I would like to know if members have this microphone or have heard of it. I never had a microphone meant for singing. I am taking media studies in college and am currently in a radio production class. The instructor suggested this mic as a low priced alternative, amongst other mics for broadcasting. From trying it I can say that it makes my voice less flat sounding.
I know that a singers mic might have its certain features. But will an all around decent mic do also?
It is a USB mic and I am so use to just the line in.

Blue makes good microphones. However, I would not go with a USB mic personally because there is not only an microphone capsule in it, but also a pre-amp and analog to digital converter - a lot to go wrong for such a low price. Can't be too good. If you already have an interface, I recommend the Studio Projects B1 as a good all-around condenser microphone for not much money. It requires phantom power so your interface has to have the ability to generate phantom power. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...ePCIukXIGCsfcQ_YEk6ECYPuzi0XiBoCRqLw_wcB

Thanks Colin. My interface I don't believe has Phantom, although that term is still new to me. Is there a plugin for that? I have an inexpensive dj mixer along with Audacity for sound editing. I would like some more levels to play with and have been looking at upgrading with the mixing. The brand of my dj mixer is merkury innovations, but when I went to upgrade the company stopped making mixers. But I was thinking of going with either Numark or Pioneer.
I would prefer not having to deal with these USB hiccups if I can and am going to start looking at Phantom more. I have heard that mentioned more as a standard.

A condenser microphone requires a tiny amount of electricity to work. Without power, a condenser microphone does not make a sound. The electricity is called phantom power and is provided through the mic cable by the interface. Your DJ mixer may not have phantom power but any modern mic interface will have it. There is usually a switch to turn on phantom power. (A USB condenser mic gets its phantom power from the computer through the USB cable).

I have one. Works great for vocal recording and pod casting. My Blue (mine is black, I call it the 8 ball)mic has a really cool retro looking shock mount too. It does the job.

Thanks Rick! This mic has seemed to do the trick with ads in my radio production course. It has not seemed to get in the way that much with my recordings on the net. All I have is a dj mixer and not sound boards that are bigger than my apartment. I just want something simple without a lot of noise in the background. There looks to be the endorsements to that.
