I started out life wanting to be an opera singer. I wrote this after seeing a production of Orpheus in the Underworld by Offenbach. Same idea - Euridice would rather stay in hell than go back with Orpheus. Kind of a walking blues base like "The Cat Came Back" with the "Ums" and "Ahs" sexily emphasized!
I'm gonna tell you a story from Greek mythology 'Bout a cat named Orpheus and his baby One day while he wasn't home Hades came on by Said, Euridice my honey, would you like to start a fire? And she said, Um And she said, Ah Who needs a musician when you can have a God?
She drank a little poison, it took away her breath She fell down to the floor and Lord, she looked like death The neighbors wouldn't help her, they knew that she was cursed She looked up at the Devil, she said, Devil, do your worst And he said, Um And he said, Ah Who needs a musician when you can have a God?
Orpheus he came on home, the house was dark and cold No wifey on the doorstep, no supper on the stove He looked around until he found a little envelope Tore it open, looked inside and this is all she wrote: The note said, Um And it said, Ah Who needs a musician when you can have a God?
Orpheus went down to Hell, he played his golden lyre He charmed the socks off Cerebus, he cooled the Furies' fire He hitched a ride with Charon and he never paid the fare Found his pretty baby, said, What are you doin' here? And she said, Um And she said, Ah Who needs a musician when you can have a God?
Orpheus said, Fine then, I'll play until you go He's been there for eternity, it's always S.R.O. The Furies got together, they became his backup band Cerebus sells hot dogs, Charon takes it to the bank And they say, Um And they say, Ah One good musician is better than a God!
One good musician is better than a God!

Hi, This is the first I've read from you, but then I have been AWOL for a while. This reads great and I would like to hear it to music. Only two suggestions, putting your name at the bottom with a date will help protect it. And I think it does have potential.

"If one man can do it, any man can do it. It is true. But the real question is, if one man did it, are you willing to do what it takes to do it as well?" –Brian Austin Whitney
