Several Folks have been voting for our song on Music Tampa Bay and I'm sure some of you are tired of seeing the thread grow (now up to 7 pages!!!!).

Anyway, this is the home made music video if the song which is called Latest Regret. It's in High Definition so you can watch full screen. Let me know what you think!

This is a well written and performed song, Colin and friends. I hope you are "pitching" it 'cause it has a ton of potential. Well done video... but I grew up listening to the radio and could enjoy this song in that medium alone. Well done and best of luck with it. ----Dave

Hey Colin,

It's hard for me to write this, but here goes......

As a musical JPF bud and someone who has listened to your music for a long time, this is a great tune.

The vision for this song, is however, just ...... words fail me.

It starts off Ok, then just goes into a band standing there. There has been no effort in visualising and producing the vision to the song.

Almost everything is wrong. No concept, no storyline, no direction, and no editing ( sound wise also ) which could elevate and complement a great song.

I'd do a total take down on this one, and erase it from the internet.

There is no reason why, you guys, who are very seasoned musicians, can't approach a local film/media college, and get them to come on board, and produce your song, virtually for free. You just have to pay for the catering, and it better be good. smile

There's many options here. But please don't do what you did to a very well written and produced song.

cheers, niteshift

Thank you for the feedback. Niteshift, yes, we were in a hurry to get something out to promote the song and not make a full blown music video but if it's that bad, we'll have to get help. That's about my limit on editing movies. We are going to do a professional live video next week, but it will still be the band playing.

Hey Colin,

That's fine mate. The footage is clear and stable.

You just need a two camera shoot. One to remain static, to zoom in and out, and another to roam, and do close ups, side takes etc.

Look at the background and put the band in an interesting place....club, beach, abandoned warehouse ( overdone ) or the front porch of an interesting house.

Get the individuals, especially the vocalist to sing down the barrel of the camera occasionally. This gives one on one eye contact and a personal relationship to the viewer.

Quick edit for musical transitions, 1-2 seconds, and hold longer for the hook, 5-10 seconds, and you're away.

Most of all, HAVE FUN ! grin If you have fun, so will the viewing audience.

Good luck !

cheers, niteshift
