There is a music blog that is hosting a Dylan cover contest on youtube. Since I am a big Dylan fan and have recently started experimenting with video, I thought I'd give it a shot. Here's my cover of Blind Willie McTell, a song I loved from the first time I heard it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8VlXKC4nngScott

Sounds like Bob wrote a Scott Campbell song. Great job. Thanks Colin. I wish I could write a song like that. I think I can tell a decent story. But tapping the unconscious for poetry seems beyond me. Scott

Mackie Thanks, Mackie. I would have preferred to build the intensity without adding instruments - but I'm not a good enough musician So I brought in the bass on verse 3, the drums on verse 4, and the high harmony on verse 5. Fortunately there were only 5 verses Scott

Hey Scott, Gotta agree with Colin that Dylan wrote the song for Scott Campbell to sing. Good stuff bud. The video works well. Now just mix in a story line from "outside the studio", visually, and see how it goes. cheers, niteshift

He puts pictures in my head alright - but I doubt anyone has taken them. Point taken though. Maybe I'll start with my own stuff though. Scott

Sorry for the delayed reply, Ricki. Lol - no I didn't win. But they posted my video with some compliments in their comments. Was pretty pleased, considering I still don't consider myself a musician. Thanks, Scott
