Hello John,
I listened to your piece. Though I am not a fan of 'contemporary classical music', I tried listening in a different way because the musicianship of both pianist and violinist was stellar I had to try something different.
I saw her sitting at the window. It was raining, again. It had been raining the night before. Rain drops pelleted the window pane, as she looked out through the trees hiding just the bottom view of the lake. Her focus became internal... remembering that day when... The drowning. Struggling for air, surfacing then plunging back down, down, down.
Who was she? A memory. But who? This piece would definitely work well with a mystery scene in a movie or even a staged play.
Well down. Your music took me someplace and that's what great music does.

But find myself enjoying composing in the contemporary classical more often lately. Maybe because it’s open to different possibilities than romantic classical. Love your scenario! Best, John

Mission accomplished, John:
This one almost makes the hair on the back of one's neck stand up... letting you know, "It's time to run for your life!" No doubt, the movie studios will be after this one for a thriller. As always, best of luck with it! ----Dave

Hi John,
Very enjoyable. Suspenseful and a bit demented. You're finding haunting melodies within a dissonant harmonic structure.
Great work!

Mike Thanks Mike! Yes about the melody. Fewer possibilities for melodies, but more possibilities for unfamiliar melodies. Best, Mike
