I have been busy with my newish band, Rosewood Creek. We just finished recording a new CD mostly in my home studio. The CD has not been released yet but it will be called American Sojourn and includes a number of songs that lyrically take place in various places in the USA. Here is a sample that may become our "single" called Latest Regret. Shawna Vercher, our lead singer, wrote the lyrics and I assisted with the melody, chords and music. All comments welcome, although we are not going to be changing anything significant at this point. If it doesn't sound good on your speakers, let me know since I am still mastering.
Thanks,
Colin

Opens a little tinny but then it wows Colin
Power of her vocals and the bluesy feel reminds me of Allanah Myles Black Velvet.
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

Thanks John. The open and close is supposed to emulate old vinyl.

Hi Colin, You guys are sounding great as usual. I love the production. The guitar work is some Memphis magic. I love it when Shawna stretches out a bit. She's really strong when she's letting loose. Mike

Nice tune...
Reminiscent of "Suzie Q" in the guitar work. Reminiscent of Allanah Myles in the vocal melody. Vocalist has a very clean and clear voice. Sounds good.

Mike,
Thanks for the kudos. Shawna has a big voice when she lets it rip!

Martin,
Thank you. I guess you're right about Suzy Q....hadn't thought of that. I am going to have to listen to Allanah Myles.....not familiar with her.

Smokin Colin I agree the singer sounds great and I love that solo and the old vinyl popping fx. I wonder if you might consider moving the back up vocal a little to one side or the other of the lead. The over all production sounds great... fully balanced and crisp.
You guys sound is really coming along wonderfully, are you gigging much?
BTW I'm listening with headphones.

Nelson, Thanks for commenting. I will take a look at the panning of the backup vox.
We have some really cool gigs booked. A couple of very large festivals tomorrow and Saturday. But it's a struggle to find the good stuff. We don't do smoky bars!

Thanks for sharing a "taste" of your new album... and I wish you guys tons of luck with "American Sojourn" and my compliments to your lead singer for a fine performance.
