I've had this on the go for a few years, still may tinker with it, I'm hearing a talking blues kinda thing,
Don’t Land On Earth.
In another world in distant galaxy A man asked his wise old friend He said I’m going on vacation Is there a planet you recommend, His friend looked up to the stars And said go anywhere you want to But don’t visit earthlings They’ll capture and kill you.
and he said Don’t land on earth It’s a treacherous place There’s greed and deceit Behind every face, Leaders sip champagne To freshen their breath Poison in the air Lingers everywhere Don’t land on earth.
The man was really bewildered His world is a peaceful one There are no locks on any doors And not so much as a wooden gun, His friend slowly bowed his head Sometimes wisdom is a heavy load Then he spoke about wars And vests that explode.
and he said Don’t land on earth It’s tragic but true The depth of misery Will overwhelm you. Power and money Breed violence and theft, From city to cave There’s nowhere safe Don’t land on earth.
Well the man shook his wise friends hand With a truly thankful grip, His friend said heed my advice And have a nice galactic trip.
and he said Don’t land on Earth There’s weapons galore Choose a better world To see and explore, The fighting started When our ancestors left, In the universe There’s nowhere worse Don’t land on earth. yeah In the universe There's nowhere worse Don't land on Earth.

A very unusual one John but something that may have been discussed by our alien brethren down at the bar, or WMC. No suggestions, well written and I hope you make it into a song Travis

Don’t land on earth It’s a treacherous place There’s greed and deceit Behind every face, Leaders sip champagne While children starve to death, There’s torture and hate Murder and rape Don’t land on earth.
Good advice!

Hi again John,
Long time no see,
I really like this. A Lot. I think it would make a wonderful blues song except...
The dark parts like children starving and torture...
Yeah, that's all true but it absolutely kills the humor. At least for me.
This tune has to walk a REALLY fine line. And IMO you've gone over it a bit.
I'd say, reel in the darkness just a bit and you could have an absolute winner...
Peace,
Ian
