Hi, my name is Jamie and I am from the St. Louis area. I am looking for cowriters. In the past I have written mainly pop songs with one regular cowriter. I would like to write more country songs and find regular country cowriters to pitch to Nashville. I think I am much better with lyrics, so it would be ideal of you were a stronger music/melody writer. I am a member of NSAI and Songu.com. Here is a link to some of my songs. https://www.reverbnation.com/jamiemariebozifI look forward to hearing from you!

I also have plenty of country-inspired lyrics for consideration, including this one which was inspired by a workplace event where a lady at a cubicle near where I was stationed was having a 50th birthday party and was surprised by her co-workers when she returned from vacation. There were some gifts, plenty of balloons and her area walled off with crime scene tapes. A few days later I was walking through the corridor and nearly tripped over a few of the balloons that were left over. And this song was born. See what you think.
LEFTOVER BALLOONS
c2014 Brian Beecher
I was invited to your birthday party By someone who knew you and used to work aside I thought I was over all the heartache But back when you left me I was filled with wounded pride
I arrived at your house around eight-thirty And sat in the most comfortable chair in the place I didn’t know if you were with another But memories rained down upon me when I saw your face
When I asked if we could get back together You told me it was over, there was nothing I could do I can’t help but think of you when I hear romantic tunes All that’s left of what we had are leftover balloons
When I drove by your house a few days later I would see a few balloons left out in the rain I’ll go on with my life, there’s not use waiting But when I saw those few balloons I really felt the pain
When I asked if we could get back together You told me it was over, there was nothing I could do I can’t help but think of you when I hear romantic tunes All that’s left of what we had are leftover balloons

Have you had luck finding cowriters yet? Much of my stuff, including the example above, are tailored for the genre. Is your strong suit lyrics or music, or do you dabble in both?

Seems to me that this isn't genuine. The voice on your first track is different to the other tacks. Who are you really?

She's obviously a female and the first song is sung by a male. The second song is sung by a female; is it Jamie, is it her collaborator, does it matter? It's probably a singer she got to sing the song; doesn't mean she's not a genuine writer.

I dont understand why someone is saying this is not genuine ???? neither God above I have used at least forty singers as well as myself for DEMO's over the years, we are not all self contained
As Doo Wah states above, as writers we dont always have the voice for a quality Demo
It's almost like someone shouting out TROLL just because someone is a bit critical of a song and that has happened on here a few times as well as other boards
A bit more of a professional attitude towards newcomers would not go amiss
One of the most important principles of songwriting is to remember that a good song is a partnership of many different components, all working together to produce a satisfying musical experience.
In that respect, song components are either enhancing or compromising their combined effects.

I can assure you that I and my songs are genuine....just as genuine as the cost of the demo that I split with my co-writer. LOL!
I am in process of trying to write different genres of songs and for different people. I think that is how you learn and grow as a writer.
