I wrote „Every Time I See You“ late 2013 together with Paul Brookes from Manchester. Before I could finish the production of this demo a vocalist from Romania listened to a very raw version and decided that he wanted to enter it in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. The song got covered and became a slow, emotional ballad sung by Krystal Mills and Mircea Cioclei and it almost made it to the Romanian finals. Today, I finally found time to finish the original recording. This song was originally an upbeat pop song. Chantal Schramm did a beautiful job with the vocals and the vocal arrangement. I fall in love with this tune every time I hear it. To me, that is why writing songs is so much fun. http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13313711EVERY TIME I SEE YOU (feat. Chantal Schramm) Verse 1: It's been 24 hours The longest we’ve been apart This separation of ours It's breaking my heart Verse 2: I'm looking for a reason For something that explains Why we are not together And who's the one to blame Chorus: Every time I see you Oh I try not to cry Can't say how much it hurt me When you said goodbye There is no explanation No there's no reason why Every time I see you I try not to cry Verse 3: You turned up to collect your things And pushed me to extremes Then the door closed behind you And I was left in shattered dreams Chorus: Every time I see you Oh I try not to cry Can't say how much it hurt me When you said goodbye There is no explanation No there's no reason why Every time I see you I try not to cry Bridge: I thought our love would Never fade and never die But then I saw you Kissing a friend goodbye Repeat chorus Every time I see you I have to cry Music: Robert Baitinger Lyrics: Paul Brookes / Robert Baitinger Vocals: Chantal Schramm Production: Robert Baitinger

Catchy melody with an excellent vocal. This could be a hit or at least a major album cut.

Hi Rob,
I love the little melodic turns in the chorus, and the angelic quality of the singer's voice, a bit like Elizabeth Wolfgram of The Jets, whose voice was also doubled tracked quite often.
I can see how you could fall in love, every time hearing this. There's an endearing quality and it stays in the memory.
Great story, btw--those wacky Romanians!
Mike

Hello Mike, thanks for the detailed feedback. I really appreciate it. I've worked with Chantal (the vocalist) since she turned 14. "Angelic" describes her voice quite well. She can sing amazing harmony parts. Those Romanians weren't wacky at all. It was the first time for me to get a chance to participate in one of the biggest music events in the world. The paperwork was horrible. Their cover version of this song wasn't bad at all: https://youtu.be/a-bkESAB1kQAll the best Robert
