January 31st is the last day to enroll for Obamacare. If you don't enroll by the end of the day and you haven't enrolled yet, you could face a fine of at least $600+. Like it or not, it's the law. Don't forget!

Who was it,
Oh, Dr. Ben Carson that said Obama Care is like slavery. But Obama said, Shut up and eat your peas!! They tried Socalisim in the Old Soviet Union. It worked so well the Soviet Union no longer exists.
The State always implored the people to do more. The people replied, why, if we do more the state will expect us to do more from now on. What do we have to look forward for? More misery and more Vodka! It was reported a lot of the Soviet people were drunk a lot.

It is interesting that going through the marketplace is not necessarily the best road. In buying a policy for Justice, it proved to be much better to go straight to Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Jeez, the red baiting never stops. Look, no one shouted socialism when Massachusett's Mitt Romney installed basically the same thing, nor did anyone shout pinko commies when the Heritage Foundation, who spawned the concept of mandated insurance in the first place. Mandated anything is not socialism, everyone is mandated to get an ID of some kind, everyone is mandated to be educated to at least 16 years of age. I'm really sick of these egregiously exaggerated characterizations which have no bearing in reality and truth and fairness. It's like this, I believe it's moral to remove "denying of claims" from the health care equation because it's plain wrong. The only way it can achieved by insurance companies without putting them out of business altogether is if everyone contributes, there is no way around it. If you can think of another way, you republicans, we've been waiting a long long long time for you do offer something. All I hear are crickets coming from senate and house republicans on this subject. Trump says "gonna replace Obamacare with something better" but he never says what that might be. He's basically saying "Trust me". Well, for a guy that tried to use eminent domain to screw a widow out of her property so that he could build a limo parking garage for one of his casinos, sorry, I'm not going to trust him ( as for Hillary, okay, touché ).

So, before the ACA, you could have paid your premiums for 30 years, and when you needed it, got a catastrophic illness, they tell you they're going to deny your claim because they found out you had some condition you forgot to mention on the application ( there was a 60 minutes segment on this, it was horrifying the state of medical insurance prior to the ACA, insurance companies had entire departments devoted for one purpose, to figure out ways to deny claims, well, that's no more thanks to the ACA ).

Sure, it's got its flaws, but I needed an operation prior to the ACA, which I could not afford, which I was able to afford once the ACA kicked in. I hear the opponents cry about how 5 or 6 million lost their insurance, but 23 million signed up for the ACA, so that's a net GAIN of 16 million. I keep hearing about "high deductibles", well, on the CA exchange, the silver plan has one that's bout $100 a month with a $500 deductible, which is only paid on emergencies. The people that got screwed are those in states that opted out ( I have a friend in Texas who can't get health care, but if she had lived in California, she could have, she has MS, I told her to move out here). I've been to the doctor several times, no waiting, a nice upscale medical establishment, and I pay about 10 bucks each visit. My operation share of expense was only $300, an operation that would costs me several thousand. Sure, if you get rid of "no denying claims for pre-existing conditions" costs are going to be higher, but the cost of health care, in point of fact, rose at a much higher rate during the Bush years than the Obama years. Oh, so you say "well, I don't want to pay for your health care", oh really? Well, I don't want to pay for your invasion of Iraq, etc., but I must, 'cause, taxes often go to things we do not like, that's the nature of taxes -- we can't always have the money go to places we want it to, no one can please everyone. Without some degree of socialism, you wind up with more misery than you would have because of it ( there is no perfect system as there are no perfect people. If people were perfect, the system wouldn't matter ). In fact, either extreme is dystopia. On the right you have fascism, on the left you have communism, and NO ONE is arguing for either. Sanders or Hillary is no more a communist than Rubio or Cruz is a fascist ( as for Trump, your guess is as good as mine as to what he is ), so knock it off with the red baiting, please. (/rant)

Some folks are full of hate and anger for a world they can neither abide nor understand. It's probably best to let them stew in their own juices.

Griping is a good thing. It helps to keep the Powers-to-be in check. It lets them know they can only push the “plain folks” just so far. When all men become apathetic, they’ll no longer have a voice in their own destiny. We’ll live for some unknown, undefined entity that will control every facet of our lives. So let the griping and complaining continue – in the name of FREEDOM!

Best, John smile

Um, Well,
Sorry! It appears the people have had just about enough! You can ignore the Cold Hard Facts but the facts still exist. The ACA is vastly unpopular among the populace. And the National Debt is rising faster than a Roman Candle! However you can fund your own Uptopia if you have the bread. All the Social Spending Programs now in the Federal Government are Unconstitutional. So they need to be ended. However each state can set up and fund it's own Social Programs as voted on by the people in each state.

I don't know who the hell is Red Baiting today. The Lessons of History are waiting. The Country is in the worse shape it has ever been like it or not. But remember, you voted for it!

P.S. I have no problem with Welfare, is of course what Obama Care is. It just belongs in the States, not the Federal Government. Obama Care has put a lot of people out of work because of the Employee Mandates of which many employers could not afford. So the 29 hour work week is now a fact of life. And further more many businesses have left the country. Witness Carrier leaving Indiana for Mexico. My Gawd some of you are so stupid! How is your retirement plan going. It has been reported that most people don't have enough money saved for a $500.00 Emergency. The Titanic is sinking and Rome is Burning. And you are left holding the bag. Putting somebody else in charge of your future is so stupid.

Ray,

Please try and refrain from calling folks "stupid" on here. If you all can't be nice to each other, don't play.

As soon as the insults get personal in this political season, I am locking threads until Brian tells me otherwise (and of course, he can unlock it and I will let it go after that).
