This one's for Bowie. There's no imitation of him here, just his old familiar presence in my head driving me to get things done. It needs some sound tweaking, but that can wait. Remember you are alive. Never forget to be amazed by the here and now. http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13295162 Here and NowAs I gaze through my eyes At the infinite skies I can hear spirits whispering Here and now All these wonders unfold As the story is told How we pass through the here and now Like the song of the bird Like the wandering herd I belong to the miracle Here and now Like a wave on the sea Like the wind in the tree I belong to the here and now Here and now, all my time will allow Here and now, I'm alive somehow Like a wave on the sea Like the wind in the tree I belong to the here and now All we daughters and sons Are the fortunate ones Who belong to this miracle Here and now See the lines that we cast To the future from past Never capturing here and now Here and now, all our time will allow Here and now, we're alive somehow Like a wave on the sea Like the wind in the tree We belong to the here and now Yes, I belong to the here and now Mark Kaufman, January 2016

Mark:
I agree with Calvin. Very nice work. I know you will be working on this one a little more so I won't offer any "nits" expect the vocal could be raised a tad above the mix. Much talent, my friend. Great to hear another of your songs. ----Dave

Thanks guys! Dave, I don't mind hearing any nits. In fact, one of the things I thought was that the vocal was too loud...! I wanted to bring some of the other instruments up, like the piano, and tone down the loud cymbals...but I thought the lead vocal might be TOO loud...maybe I'm wrong! Appreciate the observation, thanks.

Dave, after your comment I realized you were right...I couldn't make out certain phrases in that lead vocal. Remixed and fixed—thank you for the suggestion.

Hi Mark, Love it. It's got that classic early 70's Brit Pop sound, which is near to my heart. You sing it with more soul than Tony Burrows could've. I love a lyric that's got a bit of Zen in it. I hear your Lennon influence..and that modulation up a whole step was woven in so well I didn't catch it for a few listens. Beautiful work. Mike
