KENTUCKY LADY
When I get home tired from working late she'll be there for me we've a standing date Friend to talk too confidentially Gives me a warm warm feeling inside of me
Kentucky lady, you're as sweet as honeycomb beautiful baby another glass seeing we're on our own Kentucky lady, we're staying in again tonight Kentucky lady, smooth as silk you'll help me sleep 'till the sun turns on his light
Enjoy your company who needs crowded bars you're my haunting melody, my humming guitar Since she left me, I've gotten closer to you can hardly recall her name when the nights through
Everyone's as good as the last one never looks at me with those dark eyes and says it's been good, but sometimes love gets in the way

it started off good but then you had to bring up an old flame, kinda wanted to keep hearing about the new love.Forget about whining about your troubles, they don't want to hear that either.I want to hear about what makes this Kentucky woman special, not about you or your old flames.i know you can do it!Mike

It's not exactly a new love-but I suppose it is in a way Mike it's a bottle of Kentucky's finest. I'll have a rethink though Cheers

I think there needs to be a reason why he drinks and finds the KW good company, hence the EX

Travis, I like it. I like it so much I'm going to make a suggestion (or two)! "she always there for me, so I don't hesitate" to "she always there for me, we've got a standing date" "tell her all my troubles, don't need to hide" to "tell her all my troubles, always takes my side" Maybe stay with using "lady" -- "beautiful lady". As I said, I like the way it's going. Good job. Dave

Thanks Dave for your take on this I wasn't happy with that first verse.Used the standing date line and rewritten the last two lines of verse one.I'll sit on the chorus at the moment but will look at your suggestion for a rewrite Cheers Travis

I'm trying to figure out if this Kentucky Lady is a woman or a fifth of whisky. Maybe it is both. I am from Kentucky, so this one has meaning for me. I had girl friends up there before I got married (and divorced) down here.
