Well Travis must be desperate to ask a non-musician to write the music for his lyric but i thought, why not.I don't mind messing up somebody elses stuff for a change, lol.Thanx Travis,it was a fun song to do! http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13250243Tell Her You Love Her (all the time) when your love is under attack you don't give in,you fight back deal with the rumors and lies or you may as well, kiss her goodbye if you're sure of her and she feels the same way as you if you're sure it's for real, this is what you should do tell her you love her all the time don't give her cause,to change her mind show her you love her all the time, all the time if you're working late, miss a date call her and tell her, that time will wait say you'll make it up to her real soon we'll do something special, this Sunday afternoon if you're sure of her and she feels the same way as you if you're sure it's for real, this is what you should do tell her you love her all the time don't give her cause,to change her mind show her you love her all the time, all the time look into her eyes everything you ever wanted is there, looking back at you tell her you love her all the time don't give her cause,to change her mind show her you love her all the time, all the time

Good job, maybe reduce the length of some gaps between sections, but not a big deal.
Would be nice to replace this line with something more personal, or maybe the mystery is better

HmmmI liked the gaps personally but it's good to get feedback like this Neil cheers travis For me they slow down the progress of the story, but that is just me. LOL Here there is an abrupt change , like a but or you may as well, kiss her goodbye (cut gap in half) But if you're sure of her and she feels the same way as you if you're sure it's for real, this is what you should do

Good choice of music for a sound lyric, Mike and Travis.
I tend to agree with Neil about the gaps though.

thanx for the spin and thoughts Vic!You and Neil are hearing gaps i don't.I could've used "buts" or whatever but then i feel those are words you could trim. The only real gap is between the verse and pre-chorus then the usual breaks between chorus and verse.i really don't think i should sing it as a long run on sentence.i think the r&b stuff should have a little breaks here and there,it gives it a little more personal communication feel to me.Mike

I go with Mike on this one, the song is different from our usual country output so accordingly a different approach was needed as it isn't a country song. I like the way Mike sees it but I'm really grateful for the input and comments on it's construction as well, even though we don't altogether see eye to eye. Travis

Mike and Travis, something a little different from you two! Good deal! I like these slow burners. I was expecting something a little different musically for the pre-chorus or lift because it's pretty much the same as the verses but, other than that, I was groovin along to it.
It's good to try different things, to stretch artistically. Try a different instrument or, write music to other' lyrics if you're used to your own lyrics first. It's all good.
Ricki

Mike. It's just the long gaps after the verses I was referring to. Feels like it needs something going on (solo or change in rhythm) to lead into what is, I presume, a pre chorus.
Just my opinion. Vic

hey Vic,i see what you mean by adding maybe something along the solos, like a sax would've been cool.Maybe next time, this one was recorded differently than i usually do them so it would be a pain to go back and rerecord,so this one is in the can.I appreciate your thoughts!Mike

Nice write. Love the chorus! Simple and memorable. Melody has a loose easy flow that makes this very listenable.

Hi Michael and Travis,
This is really cool music. Like Self-Portrait Dylan, looser and more confident, and playing with structure a little bit.
The lyric is practically a treatise or formula for how to not lose ones mate, and the phrasing sings off the page.
Love the laid back Memphis sound. Really nice work, you guys!
Mike
