New link added... Weird, this trailer has been up close to a year and I just found out about it. Crazy business end is always far behind the placements. John

Congratulations. Did they license directly from you or through your agent?

Congrats, John! I like that drum beat, perfect for a bodice ripper! Ricki Thanks Ricki! Especially since it's an original beat, not a loop. On the quick bongo/congo parts I used converted piano trills. Best, John

Nice work, John:
Did you ever get Getty Images straightened out? I seem to recall they were being rather stingy with paying Composers and Artists... as well as Songwriters.
Enjoyed,
----Dave

----Dave Thanks Dave! Actually Getty Images have a better deal than the majority of the other libraries. They got a bad rap when they lowered the percentage of licensing fees for the writer. However, the majority of music libraries have never given upfront licensing to the writers - zilch. Getty Images, like most libraries, still give 100% PRO royalties. So yeah, Getty’s a better deal than most. However, these days I don’t sign any tracks over to anything less than 50% upfront licensing and 100% Writer PRO royalties. Best, John

Hey John, A friend of mine used my song, Catching Fireflies, for a book trailer. I actually wrote two different new songs for the book but they wound-up using Fireflies. It sounds amazing only coz Mike Zaneski worked his production magic on it. The book is called All Bears Need Love & deals with interracial adoption. I was honored that they selected my song. http://youtu.be/L3HLqbV6KQk
