Thanks for the insight and all the great sugs.
Drove by the 'ole house just the other day You know the one we used to own Saw the leaves were changin' just like me Fallin' all around in the autumn breeze I'm the lost You never found
Didn't think I asked too much But you craved another's touch I was the fight you couldn't win That's why I never let you in Thought you played me for a clown Like one trick pony in a one horse town
Moonlit kisses in the dark Thought you had me from the start Such a fine line between angry and sad 'Cause baby... I'm the best thing You never had
Does she fill That big black hole In time she'll find It owns your soul
Moonlit kisses in the dark Thought you had me from the start Such a fine line between angry and sad 'Cause baby... I'm the best thing You never had
Yeah honey I'm the best thing Yeah the best thing I'll always be The best thing You never had

I still drive by the house I sold in 1989. But divorce creates such bitterness, I would never want her back.

Hi Larry, Love this!!! I can't nit on it, it's gone far past where it was before. Although I liked the original, this feels like it's meant to (I hope) I really enjoyed reading it. Not confusing anywhere.

Thanks so much Caroline. I have written the music for it but need to fine tune the arrangement a bit. Hopefully I'll it get along enough to be able to share it soon.

This has a nice, easy flow to it, Larry. Good imagery, and the overall feeling is very 'autumnal', with it's mood of melancholy reflection. I look forward to the song. Donna

Hi Larry, I like the way it flows and it has some very nice imagery. I am a bit confused. If he never had her, how did they own a house together? Was it her parents house?

There is an idiom about how she felt about a love lost. I write from emotoinal pain to evoke a resopne to those who feel the same. My aduik nce while small underestand where I come from probably ad nauseum. Never the less we share something tangent and real. The human experience is what I'm after. If you think me worth anything then a small nod is worth a fortune.

I know a bit about emotions, I was trying to make sense of that one line.
