Hey Val, Although you and I would be 180% out of phase with one another politically, especially per some of the photo examples on the video and...well...the occupy movement itself, this song is too darn good to pass on. We can all agree to disagree politically or on other issues but a good song is a work of art this is a good work of art. This is a good song. Musically very catchy although I think you go overboard with the occupy refrain. It gets a bit tiresome after awhile, at least to my ears. But that's just one man's opinion. See what others think.
I write some humorous stuff that gets a lot of responses but also do a lot of what I call Gospel Rock songs that get little response simply because the subject matter doesn't sit well with some folks. In fact I have one now, Without You that floated down the page pretty well unnoticed probably for that reason. My point is, if you don't get a lot of comments on this for that reason, take heart. It's a darn good song, regardless of my feelings about the subject matter.
Take care and keep writing,
Stevie

Thank you Stevie, its good to live in a country where two people can be at polar opposites and neither one of us has to worry about getting arrested for our opinions . In other places in the world, one or the other might be in fear of their life. I was raised in Southeast Missouri. My dad was a country preacher when I was young and I grew up on "Hillbilly Bluegrass Gospel". I still love that stuff. Good to make your acquaintance. Thanks Val

Too bad this is just about 4 years too late.
Had you released this Sept 2011, this might have taken off. It sings well and that catchy refrain is almost anthemic.
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

IMO we, indeed, have systemic issues with our political system...issues that probably make the old white guys in the powdered wigs spin about 3,000rpm's When super PAC's collect hundreds of millions and when a congressional campaign requires millions upon millions to even get started...this is not what the founding fathers had in mind. OK, enough from a cranky ole phart who almost NEVER gets political! We really enjoyed the song. It was well put together, well sung and the mix sounds great on our monitors. Like Stevie said good music should rise above political boundaries. We love a great gospel song as well as we love our blues. Look forward to hearing more! J&B

Thank you so much for the kind words. I am coming out of a many year musical hibernation and am getting ready to produce more. I have tons of songs written, just need time to track and mix them. Wish me luck!
Thanks
Val

I like the song Val....but you are only half right! If you want something to last you have to get it completely right.

Sounds good. The movement itself is a mixed blessing. You sound good and I watched your vid of Tree Top Flyer too, which I like.
One minor nit....it bugs me when singers place the emphasis on the wrong syllable or word in a song to make it fit. Your phrases Wall Street and Boston are examples. You know the emphasis should be WALL Street, not Wall STREET. Similarly, it's BOSton , not BosTON. A minor problem.....

Val:
Forgive the seeming harshness of my post. It is not aimed at you personally.
The melody is fine but the message is pure crap. Go back and take a look at world history... especially WWII. You folks are certainly entitled to your opinions but "Socialist = Communist = Democrat" as far as I'm concerned... and the Republicans are not much better.
Part of your message is correct. Things aren't fair! Have they ever been? Were you born poor and later fatherless, like me? Did you crawl out of poverty and save your ass off while working long hours to protect and feed your family?
I'm sick and tired of cowards running around wearing those silly damned white masks with goatees. You show pictures of George Bush as though he created all the problems in America and the world. Where were you when the twin towers fell? Was this caused by anyone but radical Muslims who might as well be Nazis?
Wake up, get a job. Vote! Stop parading around taking away valuable police resources to protect your lemming events.
It could be worse... all you have to do is elect another dumb damn democrat and we will be sinking faster than the Titanic.
The opinion expressed here is strictly my own... and yes, I served my country in the military for more than four years.
----Dave
