Hi Doug. Reminds me of my first speech at a wedding.
I like the arrangement, vocal and the lyric is interesting.

Hi Doug!
A cool song for sure, though I'm a little mystified as to what you are really saying, but like Vic said, it's interesting. Very cool Bridge by the way!

Hi Doug,
The song gets going late for me, in the "while your waiting" section (bridge?) cuz I'm rather spoiled by your "soul" voice, and thought the verses and chorus rather subdued by comparison.
Interesting lyric--a kind self-referential lyric that speaks of being mystified while being a mystifying lyric in and of itself.
Mike

Yeah, I'm totally in the dark and usually want my mystery without any confusion but still found this very engaging, probably because the music is so excellent. Still, well done! Love the harmonica too! Ricki

Wonderful vocals, and I love the funky music. Re the lyric: Maybe it's the broad streak of Gaelic melancholy in me, but I immediately thought the setting was either a deathbed scene or a wake. (Though the choice of edibles did seem a little odd. ) On re-reading, of course, it's clear that the setting could be any number of situations. Very clever write. Donna

Janice and I are fans of songs that let the listener connect some dots. Granted the dots are a bit far apart here but for this song it makes it all the more interesting.
I can think of three scenarios that I could plug in here and that is cool 'cause they would all three work for us.
So we have all the mystique and a great vocal and arrangement to go along with it.
Nice!

Cool, funky vibe. The chorus reminds me of Men At Work back in the 80s. Some great lines in there too.

Hi Vic. I can relate to the speech thing.
Thanks for the spin Eddie!
Hey Zane, I agree the tune does kick in late. Better luck next time.... Or maybe not! Ha... Thanks
Yea Ricki I'm pretty mystified by it myself!
Hi Donna. My Gaelic mind was all over the place on this one. At one point I was thinking presidential debate of some sort. Ha
Thanks y'all , doug

Cool vibe overall. I wasn't a huge fan of the vocal melody in the verses, but I really liked the melody in the chorus. I could hear a ton of potential for adding more layers to the cool sound in the chorus, really killer. The bridge was pretty strong, and nice vocals as well. It's kind of a weird song, for sure, but I really liked the groove and the listen in general. Good stuff, and good luck with this!

Thanks Janice n Bud. Yah the dots are so far apart in this one I could barely find my way through this one. Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks jimmy I appreciate that
Thanks L James. Happy you liked it
I can see where M A W fit in to the chorus. That's cool!
