I feel like I don't belong there anymore. I know some of us here have hundreds of songs on Soundclick. I don't have that many, but I am having a hard time posting my songs from SC to Facebook because the SC player shows rappers and other people who pay premium to advertise on my page. I don't want to see them show up on my FB post,(They don't look like me). It's misleading. Right now, I'm just leaving a link. A lot of people don't trust links.
I'm thinking about moving my music somewhere else. The only sites I can think of are Soundcloud and Reverb Nation.
I'm open to any suggestions. Would I have to start over and upload my music to a new storage site one song at a time?, or is there an easier way to transfer the music from SC. I just have a feeling that SC won't be around much longer.

Are you doing it right Ben Willis?? When I have a photo associated with my song, it comes up with the song info when I share on FB, I've never had anything else..is this recent?? I haven't ever had that happen to me and to tell you the truth, I am hearing about all of these other music hosting sites having trouble and I'm sort of happy that soundclick has been secure for so long and doesn't have big changes...sort of reliable for me....just my thoughts on it....

Probably not doing it right TamsNumber4. I've had to delete posts with likes and comments just so people won't think I'm nutty. I've had two or more songs play at one time.

I usually play my song and when that blue box comes up in the corner, I click on the little FaceBook icon and fill out what I want to say and post from there and my photo that I associated with my music comes up with my words.... I'm sure if you don't have a photo, that they would take advantage of that and post something else for you....

I still have my Soundclick site, but I don't link it to Facebook. I link my Facebook to Reverbnation.
I have music posted on about a half dozen other sites. Most of these sites aren't maintained by me anywhere near as much as Reverbnation.

Soundcloud works pretty well. I use it for finished material. Soundcloud links easily to my WIX websites. Soundcloud never solicits me for anything.
I accumulate unfinished and odds and ends on Soundclick which is good enough to post here for comments, etc. Soundclick hasn't changed much in a long time so is probably antiquated by some standards, but they don't bother me or ask for money.
Reverbnation has a pretty good calendar for band shows but has become annoying in many other ways. The player is OK but I get countless emails from them and lots of requests to upgrade to a paid account.

Hi Ben:
Wish I could help you with your soundclick problem. Instead, I use ShowCaseYourMusic.com as a free place to post my songs. You can post as many or as few as you like in MP3 format. I change my playlist about every week and usually roll-over about four songs each time.
The site goes down frequently but it is free. You can put your songs in three genre categories. There are way too many rappers on that site but if you are posting civilized music, you won't have any problems.
They pretend it is a social media site but that part does not work very well. I usually ignore it unless someone makes a very nice, uplifting comment.
Another nice feature is the "counter" to show how many "listens" or visitors you have had at your page there.
If you are interested and need help, feel free to send me a PM or an E-mail.
Regards,
----Dave

I like Soundclick and also Show Case Your Music, though I am not very active on either one.

Put them on youtube with movie maker and just post the URL....I have hundreds on facebook that way. I HATE those Rappers showing up and don't know WHY or HOW that happens....but it's wrong.

I dunno...I don't much promote anything of mine on-line, but I do have an "Artist"(?) page on Soundclick, and I think it's the only "music" Site that I have. I didn't even know you could do that link-thingie with Facebook.
I find it convenient to put a link to it on my Facebook page if the mood ever strikes. Honestly, though, the other--ahem--Artists who pay to be on my page don't really bother me.
Almost every Site has so much unasked for clutter that I don't even notice them anymore, and anyone who clicks on any link I put on Facebook knows what I look like, and knowing who my "friends" are, and what their tastes are, I doubt if any of them pay attention to the ads either.
On the other hand, I remember a few years ago when a new member here got ripped up one side and down the other because some Folks thought that she was claiming to be them and didn't understand that she had no control over the ads(although it wasn't from a Soundclick page).
Just gotta go with what's comfortable, I guess.
Oh, and I just realized that I didn't answer your question Ben, but then again, I'm not sure that I know. I believe that if you go to your "Administration" page, that there's a "delete" account button, but could be wrong.
so, anyone? Bueller....Bueller...How DO you leave Soundclick?
Happy bath-night Ben!

I use Bandcamp. Can still stream from your page and post your songs on FB and Twitter, but it also gives you the option to sell downloads and/or merchandise from your page, as well. Plus… there are no advertisers. AND… there are promotional tools that help you get heard. It's my favorite medium. My page: http://hoponpop.bandcamp.comI can't believe that you haven't heard of it, though. Right?

The only emails I get from ReverbNation are weekly updates, which I could turn off if I wanted to. You need to modify your preferences.
