Hello all. Haven't been around much - been fighting a bad flu. Just thought I'd put something up. A little Hollywood rock: https://90dbband.bandcamp.com/track/cold-cold-worldRegards, Bob

Good tune. Enjoyed it and a lyric that many a struggling artist can relate to. Well done.

Hi Bob,
This has a nice sound, reminding me at times of Petty and The Byrds. I thought there was some great guitar work, right channel extremely low in the mix 'til the very end, and I longed to hear harmonies on the words "cold, cold, world" but other than those tiny nits really enjoyed your song. Sorry you've had a summertime flu. Yuk!
Mike

Hullo Bob. I like this and all I can add is what Michael just said about harmonising on "It's a cold cold world". That would lift it 100%.

Hi guys. Thanks for listening and the nice remarks. I agree about both the lead and harmony vocal. Have to revisit this one.

Hey Bob,
I like both the melody/lyrics with this'n. Nicely performed as well. One small sug if I were producing this--I'd ask you to throw in a little more attitude on the 2nd pre-chorus and chorus just for a slight more "building" effect to dramatize the latter part of the song and differentiate it a bit from the opening--subtle difference can make it feel not as repetitive, yet still returning to the hook.
Love this Bob, nice write/performance!

"All along the Boulevard The street of broken dreams Where nothing is as golden as it seems A thousand nameless people Do a thousand closing scenes That'll never play On a thousand silver screens."
What great lines!
I love it when somebody takes an oft told theme and presents a fresh and inventive take on it. Sad but not maudlin...hits the sweet spot.
As Michael mentioned there is a Tom Petty feel here...the timbre of your voice and the write.
So much for parsing. It's a damn good song and we enjoyed it...a lot.

Hi Bob,
OH, maybe if I run out to catch the flu, I could produce a damn good song too!! (I like how Janice & Bud said that so I had to repeat it!)
Super cool...sounds GREAT!

Well, Bob, you'll have to come around here more often if this is what you"ll be sharing! Great feel to it overall. I agree, while your vocal is excellent, a little harmony would break it up a bit. Well done!

A little Petty-ish, but to me it felt more E Street Band. Nice write Bob, enjoyed the listen!

Joro -
Thanks for listening and the kind comments. I also thought it needed to be a few beats faster.
