Travis's original lyric was shaped and altered a little for this one but the story has the same meaning. At first it looked like a train rhythm song but then this idea came to me. Hope it works. I like the fresh take re the "on the road" genre guys. I'm a bit of a sucker for those songs and we've written a couple on that theme. And our bluegrass band was called "The Fall Line Ramblers" I have to admit that I had to listen a couple of times to get the Rolling Stones song of the same name out of my head. That may be just me because I'm a big Stones fan and frequently play that tune. The suitcase line is my favorite. Cool collab y'all. J&B

Hey Vic and Travis,
Hey guys, this is one WELL written song. I don't know who is singing it, but it lacks the depth and pronounciation of the vocalist against the backing.
The song is good, but I think it needs more work put in for the vocal delivery to make it work proper.
cheers, niteshift

Hey Vic,
You post so many, it's hard for me to keep up with you! I really like this song, think I mentioned that on FB as well. I was reading above crits--surprised that "Nite" didn't recognize your voice as much as both of you are around here, especially you with so many posts. I usually agree with Nite's always objective viewpoints, but not completely this time. I think this song's vibe works very well with Vic's "Country/Folk" type voice. I did go back and try and hear what he was hearing--and perhaps Vic, if you re-visit the eq on your harmonies and add a bit of mid high treble, and maybe pan them a bit more to give your lead vox more individual space within the mix--might enhance the lead vox which could improve the mix by giving the harmony a little more contrasting tone and it's own personal space a bit--I think the performance is fine. Experiment if you so desire.
I like this one for sure!

Hi Vic and Travis and all,
This is some fine writing --I like this "The City of New Orleans" meets "By the Time I Get To Phoenix" story going on here, and Vic captures the story with a composition that works beautifully and a performance that is most excellent.

I really enjoyed your song Vic and "Travis:"
It is a sub-genre of "Country" and I won't blather about all those great songs with similar themes. The melody is as strong or maybe a tad stronger than the lyric and that guitar solo of the chorus dropped in before it's queue... and I agree with the place you put it. Great co-write, guys... and I think your vocals are really something special, Vic.
Knowing you are both in Wales (now a part of the UK) I have to ask about the use of the term "Bus." Is that term also used in the UK or do you call them something else? If so, did you use "Bus" as a song marketing ploy? Forgive my curiosity but I always want to attempt to get into the head(s) of songwriters.
No matter, please don't take this as a criticism. This is a really good song. ----Dave

Hi Eddie. You're younger than me. You will have to run faster. Maybe I'm trying to make up for misspent youth. I already did the eq thing but I could try adjusting more. I usually just pan the backing vocals slightly right and left but I'll try an increase in that separation. Thanks for suggesting and glad you liked it. Vic

Yup .... I'd say it works. Mighty fine lyric Travis and excellent job bringing them home Vic. Extremely enjoyable listen though when I saw the title, I thought I was going to hear Vic do his best Mick Jagger Seriously ....great job. Only small nit I heard was on the line "oh how fast the time just kinda melted away" .... It seemed like a lot of words to vocally fit into that line .... Just nitpicking though Dave

Dave. Thanks very much for your opinion on this.
Now I must correct you (in a gentle way). Travis is from England and I am from Wales. We speak Wenglish. :-)
I think "Bus" is the same here as there. It's a public transport vehicle. A bus station is for the long haul busses where they pick up and drop off.

Somebody said "Tram" once to me there many moons ago and I thought he was referring to a Bus.
I've gotta sneak back and listen to this song again. Super work, you two. ----Dave

Dave(Gocartmoz).
So far you're the only one to zoom in on that line. I thought about it a lot before I did it. I believed it enhanced the sense of helplessness to his situation. I thought it worked well.
Thank you.

Mr. Rice. A tram is a bus that runs on electric rails. In the early 1900's most UK cities had them for short runs. I vaguely remember riding one with my parents.
By the 1950's they had been replaced by motor busses.

Hi Travis and Vic,
Beautiful song ... I love that lonesome feel! I had never heard the Rolling Stones song, either, but I had a listen and then read that it's based on the rapes of the Boston Strangler! I'm sure glad you guys have given a new meaning to "Midnight Rambler!"
