Halley The Differenz 2006 Terrier Studios Tuscon, Arizona Kate Berlin, William Brilmayer, Robert Malin This is a song about a girl who takes great pleasure in breaking hearts in her extensive travels, probably because her own heart was broke and she hated the way that felt! And the guys whine about it but they love her while it lasts and hate her when it's done! Put your headphones on for this one! Mitch Kay sat in on lead guitar and it is probably the last we'll ever see of him! Re-post as a reminder where the "evolution" started. I was on the freeway in a traffic jam. I had been trying to reach Kate for months. Had not seen or heard from her in many years and of course had never met Bill. Just by pure chance I dialed the right number and there she was! The first 'session' produced many ideas and four songs. This is one of those four...and the evolution continues to this day. Halley So many times I weep, to no avail I'm holding on to a veritable comets tail I need the fire but it burns too bright Who is it going to burn tonight? I have a friend that goes to USC And on ocassion he advises me He says, "I can't believe that you would take that bait! Your knockin' but it isn't heavens gate!" Halley...Halley's streaking You'll want to burn up in her atmosphere Halley...and frankly speaking She'll mess with everything that you hold dear! What did you think was going to happen "In the air"? A complete and comprehensive idiots guide to disrepair You're either a closer. Or a poser in a high-powered T.V. drama...Like your mama, sticking in your nose. And you live a daily menu of everyone you think you love This way... Halley...Halley's streaking You'll want to burn up in her atmosphere and Halley...and frankly speaking She'll mess with everything that you hold dear Then in a galaxy a million miles Away from here The Comet turns and smiles She lays the wreckage on the planets floor And leaves them clamoring for more http://www.reverbnation.com/thedifferenz/song/21787269-halley

That is a very cool lyrical metaphor. Thanks for bringing this back. BTW, your mixes are really outstanding. Thanks for the back story. Nice that the evolution began and that it continues. It has brought us a lot of listening pleasure!

Hey, MLB...
The last song I heard from you was spectacular! Your voice is so good and your creativity is constantly improving. Thank you so much for the notice and kind words. We did try to get Mitch to come back into the fold. He just wouldn't co-operate. He did come over for dinner and a cocktail and put down leads for this one track. Haven't seen him since...He's the one that initially taught us to rock!

Hey, TD...
At this stage and this age it's not about fame and fortune. It's about doing what you do well enough so that people listen and come back and listen again. Thanks so much for the spin and glad to see you're still at it...

Very cool vibe to this musically, Diff. Lyrically, telling a familiar story but in a very unique way. Awesome production. An all around winner, especially when you're doing it for the love of doing it

PS...The guitar player played with us from 1978-1982. Then we found him again in 2006, and he put a lead track to "Halley"! After that he had no interest because of other music he was involved in...Diff
