This one is a little different, so I am sure it won't be everyone's cup of tea (as we say in this part of the world ). However, I'd be interested in comments / feedback. It's another collaboration with my History of Trust partner. https://soundcloud.com/kevin-ism/the-speed-of-thingsThe Speed of Things by History of Trust He waits in the silence Scanning the scene for the things that he fears Slips out from the shadows Shedding his skin as he slips into Gear (Spoken 1: Kissing) Chorus And it helps with the Speed of Things It helps with the Speed of Things Yes it helps with the Speed of Things Yes it helps with the Speed of Things He goes through the motions Spilling the seed with a casual skill No need for redemption No need to look back when you're doing so well (Spoken: Restraints) Chorus The earth will move at it's own pace No matter who he is (Spoken : Sensations ) Chorus

Hi Kevin,
Very cool musically. Parts remind me a little of old Yes.
Lyrically, if you want your message understood, you need to give the audience at least a little hint. On the other hand, it you view it as an art rock piece, you leave the interpretation up to the listener.
Unfortunately for me, I don't have that great of an imagination so...I'm totally in the dark, frustrated and feel stupid. Because of that, I found the vocals distracting and would have preferred listening to just the instrumental.

Ricki I am a big(gish) fan of Yes, love their musical complexity although, funnily enough, never did understand what most of the lyrics were about Mostly, I want to leave the audience to make their own interpretation, although in my mind, I had a clear picture of the story I was telling. It's about a male prostitute who has become reconciled with the choices he has made and the lifestyle he has chosen. More generally, it's about accepting the path you take in life. Hope that's not too heavy and thanks for the listen and taking the time to give feedback
