The Greatest Gift Listen to this one folks. Two weeks ago Teresa wrote a song for her daughter who is getting married this coming Saturday. She sent me a crude recording of her playing guitar and singing and asked if I “could put music to it”. I sent her back a rough mix and asked if she could re-do her vocals. She locked herself in a closet and with my mix playing in her left ear recorded her vocals onto the remaining right channel. All of this using a handheld digital recorder hooked up to a Shure mic. Now here’s where I go WOW. Teresa is blind. Everything she sings and plays is from memory. No lyric sheets, cue cards, nothing. So I did my thing and with some great input and advice from John Daubert sent her a full mix. So here it is for your listening. This is only the second song she has had fully produced so she’s really looking for any kind of feedback. And, of course, the same with me. Thanks everyone and Thank God for music. The Greatest Gift (1 Corinthians 13) Teresa Paporello We’ve climbed mountains to get here today So much laughter and some tears along the way And whenever our footing seemed unsure The strength of our love made us secure. Chorus – Love is patient. Love is kind. Without jealousy or pride In all things love hopes and shares With all things love copes and bears Love is patient, love is kind. Never fails us heart or mind. And when all is said and done The greatest gift we have is love. With our friends all gathered here And our families who’ve come from far and near Even The birds that join us in our song. Joyfully draw close to sing along. Repeat Chorus – Bridge – Faith, hope and love remain Faith, hope and love remain, Faith, hope and love remain, Greatest of these is love. Faith, hope and love remain, Faith, hope and love remain, Faith, hope and love remain, Greatest of these is love. Greatest of these is love. Repeat Chorus –

Thank God for Teresa and Iggy, Terrific collaboration. I closed my eyes and just pictured the wedding event and by the end, my eyes got a little misty, the song certainly moved me. My only suggestion would be to maybe repeat the last line again but a little slower with a little more space between the words for effect and then hold the last word "love" just a little. Skip

Well bravo this is indeed a splendid piece of work and an inspiring back story. Teresa has a wonderful voice, love the harmonies. The music and lyrics are both equally powerful and perfectly suited to each other.
It holds your attention, for start to finish…… pro stuff indeed.
Hats off to all involved

what a great song iggy, had to take some care in doing this song. what a story, I think I enjoyed that as much as the song. loved Teresa`s voice in this, and a very clean track, great job Iggy great job Teresa!

Iggy,
Beautiful song here Iggy. Loved her vocals especially--sweet. I'd like hearing the lead guitar "sing" a little more out front in two spots that you left for short music interludes--but certainly not overbearing, just as a supporting role in it's featured spot.
Enjoyed this!

Michael thanks for the kind words.
Swestern: You’re feeling what I felt when I heard her raw recording. Will consider the suggestion to repeat the last line, good idea.
Thank you Nelson. It’s easy when you start with a pro.
Lisa, wouldn’t it be cool to fly! My but how the world would change. Music too!
Lane, yes I thought the story was important and shows Teresa’s devotion to her music.
Eddie as always, I truly appreciate your comments and suggestions.

A truly terrific song, Iggy. And it is remarkable to have a memory, like that. I forget the words to my own songs the very next day after finishing them. Good song, and good production! -Tom

Beautifully done, Iggy! Could see this turning into a wedding classic. Love the back story also, and Teresa has a very pleasant sounding voice, very soothing and pleasing to the ear. Nice job! -TK

Wonderful song Iggy and Teresa. What a great wedding gift to her daughter. I am guessing there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Strong lyric and strong performances all around. What more is needed. JUst beautiful.

Tom,Thanks for the listen and the comments. I’m the same way, I can’t remember my own lyrics. Ask John Daubert. Way too many times I was making them up as I went. Played hell with their back up vocals.
Thanks Dan and Travis.
Appreciate the words TK. Would be nice to hear it/ see it become a classic.
Dave, you’re so right. Her first vocals fell short, in her own words. She insisted she could and needed to do better.
Pat, I really tried to hold back on all the bells and whistles. The mix is pretty basic, but yes her vocals would shine with the simplest backing.
