The downfall of social media is now PEOPLE KNOW EVERYTHING. And the entire point seemingly of culture is to tear down anyone they can. People are not allowed to have opinions, say anything without the world piling on in one negative diatribe. Pretty tiring and disqusting. Mostly dialogue is gone. Only anger, bitterness and vitriol.

AHMEN.....!!!!!!!!!!
The world is a harsh place and ugly, negative, unforgiving and jealous people make it worse.
Technology is like everything else.....too much of a good thing is probably not good. Technology WILL eventually sink us if we are not careful. Probably the Hackers will get into the electric grid or wipe out ALL of Wall Streets Records...LOL and that will be it. In one swell swoop the Power shifts from Lawyers, Politicians, Doctors and Wall Street Tycoons to the Hunter, Trapper, Fisherman, Farmer and Builder.....lol
Maybe we'd all be better off. The world has become a Me, Myself and I Society. I know bullying has always been around but it seems worse now. ISIS is using Technology against us and on and on and on it goes.
Humans are gluttons of excess and NEVER know when enough is enough until a tragedy.....and it is COMING. Working on two new songs called IF I KNEW THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW and THE DANCE OF LIFE....so I'm sort of writing again....hard to completely shut it off like I wanted SO if it comes I'll write and record it.

It is people expressing their freedom of speech. Something I have seen you defend before Marc. In your country everyone is allowed to say whatever they want but there is no amendment that protects anyone from the backlash if they say something people don't like. Freedom of speech is still there but people also have the right to boycott you or say mean things. You really didn't care about the treatment the Dixie Chicks got. Selective outrage is the core of the issue. American society is changing and it's not changing to suit your POV.

My last comment on this; to all the older people here and everywhere who don't like the way society is heading, this is not your world anymore. You're just living in it until you die. This world now belongs to my generation and the generations after me. You lived much of your life in your world. Now it's my turn. And in 30-40 years it's gonna happen to me and my generation. This is not new. People get old and things change and some people don't change with society and then they die angry. That's what life is all about.

This guy likes singing about drinking beer on the back of a pickup truck and writing songs about it over and over. And he thinks some of the old country stars were dopers surfing the gutters. Then there's the blogger trying to get hits by yelling "Controversy! Controversy!" And people are supposed to get stirred up? It's a pretty weak soup. But it doesn't take much to start an argument on the Internet.

Aaron,
I have no problem with people expressing opinion. It is TONE backed up with ACTION. Now there is NO DIALOGUE only destruction. If someone dissagrees with someone else, they must be destroyed, their businesses, wrecked, their associations jumped on. Has nothing to do with personal boycotts, that is an economic decision. This is about the politics of personal destruction. That is what I have a problem with. Insulting, all negative and nothing but diatribes.
That is what Fascists do. Now the left have become the Fascists and become everything they always accused every one else of being. To say "now it is "Our generation and now you have to die" is quite frankly insane and are the seeds of destruction.

The world you enjoy was built by the hard work of generations before you, who fought and died for the generations to come, but now the young generation wants to put us in our place, maybe even kill us off. If that is the attitude of today's generation, what will the next generation or two have toward your generation. My generation had respect and admiration for the generations that came before us and made life a little easier for us, that seems to be missing in some of today's youth.

Well Gee Here, I, as well as others have "Complained" about the current condition of "Country" Music. Some of it, (Most of it), that that is being played on Broadcast Radio is about as weak as anything can be. But the powers that be submit it to Radio to be foisted on the unsuspecting public where after a while you think it is the norm. After hearing the good stuff for over 60 years not much impresses me much anymore. Write a Hit!

If only I were as worldly and and wise when I was young. Of course I was out making a living working for old people who I respected and were paying me on a regular basis. If I were only living in a basement somewhere in Canada complaining about current events (instead of working), who knows where I would be now. Maybe in a basement somewhere in Canada?
