This is a song, once again, that I happily and successfully wrote all at the spur of the moment but did quite a lot of corrections to over the last few weeks. I would gladly like some input if any lyrics could still use some fixing but for the most part, if anyone younger on here happens to have an insatiable appetite for alternative/pop punk/emo rock, or pretty much anything modern rock, this is a ballad about a rocky relationship but I don't want to go anywhere further with it until I have a melody that sticks but isn't too corny. So if anyone has an idea as well of a song or two they know that might be of inspiration to model the melody after, please let me know and I'll find it on Spotify if that's at all possible. here's the song. ©::thecolloquialdreamer::
v1 Here we are again The first place we met Questioning our lives So much in common And yet, we thought that we Weren’t worth it.
PRE CHORUS You said chemistry Is so 1923 Well I guess you were right But in the end, It’s just you and me and Inevitability…
CHORUS Together forever Hopeless romantics Just like only children Wanting attention It may come to a close I won’t see us decompose The truth about love In my mind Goes beyond definition.
v2 The way that we were Was straight out absurd Holding hands soon had us at a low And it showed
prechorus/v3 So maybe one of us Wanted the other too much I wish you understood it But the meaning reaped more than it could sow
(repeat chorus)
BRIDGE But logically, if we stayed Put like this I guess we wouldn’t see That learning to move on Doesn’t come so naturally Yet when life takes us back To making amends I’ll agree, face it It’s something to be said Being friends in the end.
(instrumental break, then rep. chorus)
