I normally don't watch these, but thought last night I'd give it a chance. Me personally? I was extremely disappointed. I though most of the music was very lack luster, and most of the performers were trying way too hard to be entertainers, rather than music artist.
My take may be way too old school. Am I this wrong? If you watched it, what did you think?

Hi David:
I couldn't bring myself to spend the time watching another show billed as "Country" but sounding like something from another planet. The execs in the big outfits at Nashville must stay high on coke or meth all the time... 'cause they sure don't have the foggiest notion about Country Music.
I don't mind boundaries being pushed as long as the past is not completely discarded. I suppose that's just me... but I can remember how upset I was when Country and Western was big... and they dropped Western from the genre title. (Yep, that probably makes me a "Geezer!")
Guess I'd better get out my raggedy-eared Atlas and find out where Magnolia is located.
All the best,
Dave

Humm, Didn't even know it was on. Last year I bought the Memories Cd's a 12 series set filmed in the 50's of all or most of the Country Greats. The set cost $149.98 and worth every penny. Each CD is about 1 1/2 hours long. All the great ones are about gone now. Little Jimmy and maybe Jean Shepard is all that's left.

Ray: If you get Family Network or RFD-TV there are some old time Country artists on Saturday nights. Larry's Country Diner has a lot of the old timers and Jean Shepard is usually in the audience. http://www.larryscountrydiner.com/dinertv
