A simple piano/vocal by Melissa http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12160601&q=hiSOMEWHERE IN A CORNER OF YOUR HEART (verse) I'm in a crowded room but I see no one Sitting here as though I'm in a trance Once again I'm wondering why I love you Knowing that we never had a chance. (verse) I know that we won't ever be together We never lied and said that it could be It doesn't really matter how I need you Any more than how you feel for me (chorus) I'll never wake up next to you Or hear us say the words "I do" And I'll keep hurting every day that we're apart I'll never outlive my regret That the closest that we'll ever get Is knowing I've lived somewhere in a corner of your heart. (verse) So fragile are the threads we hang by So dangerous the roads we sometimes take How foolish are the dreams we're dreaming How painful are the choices that we make? (repeat chorus) Bill Osofsky, BMI, Melissa Kienow, copyright

Hey Bill. The Soundclick link says "country". Maybe not, but it's a well penned lyric. Sad too. Vic

hey Bill, pretty heartfelt. I dont think the first verse is needed at all, it's kind of fluff. If you had a verse where you just "woke" but without her, it would support the title better.
But it's raw in a good way too.
Nice accompaniment.

Another beautiful song, Bill. I love the simplicity of this piano and vocal. Yeah, a little dark and sad... but isn't that what music's all about. No "fluff" to my ears. Pitch this thing... 'cause it's ready. Enjoyed.

Hey Bill!
Nice lyrics here, nice performance. IMO, I would like to see the vocal up front a bit more.

I agree with Eddie, the vocal could use a bit more volume. But an excellent song. Well written, well sung.

Excellent lyric, Bill. Pretty melody/music - I did feel that the chorus might have benefitted from a bit more change from the verse melody-wise - but that may just be from a single instrument (piano) recording. Well sung, too...floyd

Hey Bill,
Just a clarification--(Pam) I don't think the vocal needs to be louder, just more out front a little in the mix, not quite the same thing. However, as I'm listening again, it does actually seem "slightly" louder this time around. Melissa may have more energy today, or maybe I do????????

Hey Bill,
A really heartfelt and very emotional lyric. I also enjoyed the solo piano musical backing. It works really well. I wasn't crazy about the recording, but the song was really well written. Well done.

Dave Thanks for the listen, Dave. A little sidelight. I was at my daughter's house near Phoenix last December and channel surfing. I came to a Christian station and saw Melissa on TV playing piano and singing and a church service. It was very cool, even if it wasn't my song Bill
