Hi friends and all.
I have not been around much at all over the last month or two as I have been real busy setting up my own label.
The amount of work involved has really tested me, as I had to do everything myself.
All of the songs have been registered for 'chart counting' (should any of them take off), and I will be doing some marketing of individual songs over the next 3 to 6 months at specific times.
And it will be done as a record company, not as a writer.
I also set up for DVD sales as well.
I have a press release going out for the label and website, and will be doing others at the right times for songs.
I do have permissions from everyone involved to release the songs commercially as is.
Yes, looking good Roy! Let me know when you move into the music library licensing arena. 999 TV stations in the USA always looking for background music.

Hi John and thanks for adding a nice comment. You never know what the future holds...lol
When you say background music, do you mean music, or music with vocals...900...ummm sounds good...
Thanks again

'You Have To Kiss A Lot Of Frogs To Find A Prince'
I once had an idea with my then publisher to get some songwriters to sponser an Artist by getting some of our songs recorded and released but it never got off the ground. Good luck, Roy.
If we don't attempt to pursue our ideas, ambitions and dreams, they will seldom happen. Possibly, the element of extreme good fortune will come your way as it has for so many others. Despite the long odds and many obstacles, it can be done and I admire you for trying. I hope you achieve tremendous success.

Thanks Ray, I really do appreciate you taking the time to have a look/listen.
SO many ideas in my lifelime..lol
My father told me as a child, 'Son, It's better to try and fail, than never try', and I have tried to live by that rule all my life. Yep I have had a lot of failures, but a few small but magnificent successes along the way. Its those that I remember and am proud of.
Thanks again for the 'Good Luck' and

Of course 'The Magic Of Christmas' which you did a fantastic job on, is there, and I have some real big promotions in mind for that as we get nearer to Christmas.
I will keep you up to date as things hopefully develop.

When you speak of your age in relation to the company, I'm reminded of a man I read about who was 55 and wanted to go to law school, and people were discouraging him, saying that he'll be 58 by the time he finishes! Then, someone pointed out...well, you'll be 58 anyway and NOT be a lawyer!

I remember reading that too Lisa. An inspirational story for old people. I used to tell my older piano students that it was never too late to learn to play piano. It was a flat-out lie, but it gave them hope anyway.

Don't know what that will do, but always up and forward, that's me.
-------------- press release ------------
HEADLINE:
Suited Records music label opens doors
SUMMARY:
A new independent music label called Suited Records opened its doors in June of 2014.
PRESS RELEASE:
A new independent music label called Suited Records opened its doors in June of 2014. The label has been launched by veteran music writer Roy Cooper and already has a catalog of more than ten official releases. 'The Magic of Christmas,' 'Flowers to Arlington,' and 'The Fireman' are among the most popular titles, but scores of songs have been made available for sampling and purchase, many with official videos also for sampling and purchase. Nearly all selections published under the Suited Records label benefit an associated charity as noted at the official Suited Records website (link provided below).
Suited Records gets its name from the denotation of the word 'suited,' which means appropriate, satisfactory, suitable, befitting, or "right for a particular purpose or situation because of having all of the qualities needed."
True to their name, Suited Records pairs many of their releases with an appropriate charity; for example, a portion of sales from 'The Fireman' (a tribute song for the 343 firemen killed on 9/11) go to support dependents of firemen killed at work, and a percentage of sales from 'Heaven's Window' go to help needy families of servicemen wounded or lost in the line of duty.
"We are very selective about our releases," writes founder Roy Cooper, "and our songs cover a wide range of subjects and themes. A Christmas song, a few tribute songs, one about the destruction of our planet, and another concerned with animal welfare, are just a few available to watch and listen to."
Suited Records isn't merely a way to do good in the world through music, however. It's also a celebration of a life lived in music.
"I have been writing songs and making music videos for over 30 years now," writes founder Roy Cooper, "and after passing the 70-year-old milestone, I felt it was time to make a more positive move in getting my songs heard and my music videos seen".
"When I told my wife my plan to start my own record label and build this website, she said, 'What, at your age?' and I laughed and replied, ' Whilst there's breath in me, I will always try.' So I beavered away on my PC and here we are."
The artists and various performers featured on the Suited Records website are widely varied and numerous.
"This is just a selection of the song catalog that I have built up over the years with my wife Helen and co-writers from around the world", "Cooper explains. "We will be adding more of them to the Suited Records label over the next few months.
During my journey I have made friends with many talented songwriters whom I never would have met had it not been for the Internet. My thanks go to them all, and also to the Internet."
Nice press release. I might leave out anything that could be perceived as a negative.
Are you familiar with Fiverr.com? Lots of people willing to do stuff for $5. You might find some help with various jobs for the label very cheaply.
Colin
Thanks for having a read, and pleased that you liked it.
I know what you mean about negative things, tribute songs and sad songs I guess can be a tad negative.
I did it this way as I want to get keywords and phases within the 'website' press release, so that when I do the individual song press releases at different times, hopefully they will get an advantage through association with the earlier press release.
Also google will hopefully put me into a higher place for specif searches.
Anyway that's the plan lol.
And yes I have been using fiverr for a few years now for so many things.
So I do use fiverr. and I love it.
Thanks again for having a read and responding

I hate waiting, but have to try to time things right..lol.
