Iggy,
post apocalyptic, eh?...I guess it wasn't as vague as I thought, nice to know the feel translated....thanks for the good review.
Lisa,
gah, that happens to me a LOT...type up a bid review and then have to scale it back after I see someone said it before I did..heh.....thanks for the spin.
tom,
someone saying they're "inspired" is always the greatest compliment, thanks for that.

Wow, this gave me chills. What a great marriage of music and lyric and the arrangement has such a wonderful atmosphere that allows it all to breathe. Almost my favorite so far! Ricki

Ricki, chills?...that's awesome. Big kudos I love trying to create lonely, desolate places in song sometimes, and it seemed to work in this one....thanks for the spin.

Mac--
This one could represent a lot of places that have turned into lonely ghost towns--
Maybe a modern cowboy song, if you close one eye and squint the other!
Way out here is another Ghost Town--
I like the setting--Write on--

Mac,
I happily just randomly clicked this one and really like it. It reminds me of one of my favorite all time duos The Rembrandts. It would right at home on one of their albums. Great chord progressions and melody. One of the best things I have heard on here in a while (though I have missed lots of stuff to be fair to everyone).
Thanks for sharing. I'd love to get a quick list from you of your favorite 6-7 songs (including this one) for consideration of our inaugural Top 10 list. So far, I'd put this one on it happily.

Mackie,
squint and close the respective eyes?.....ha ha......I think you picked on the other half of the imagery, dirt roads and a world passing by a small, abandoned town......so yeah, a cowboy thing could be loosely connected....thanks for the spin.
Brian,
Rembrandts, eh?.....I love a lot of their work, I'll take it......glad you were not sorry to have clicked through....heh heh. Thanks for the good review.

80 is a smash. Great tune. I could see it as a theme song to my favorite show on TV ... The Walking Dead. It fits right in therew with the zombie apocalypse, zombies aside. In all seriousness, I could find nothing not to like about this song. Great atmosphere created by the music. Loved it.

Ha! I have a better comparison for you, though the Rembrandts still works too. I was a big Julian Lennon fan (actually more than his dad, blasphemy as it might be) and this could have been on any of his albums! I went back to listen to some of his stuff and it almost COULD be him!
Song has really grown on me and I am not the only one it seems.

Brian,
I too, am a Julian Lennon fan, and that's a comparison I've not heard before.....I'll take it. This tune made quite the impression on a friend of mine who's work I love......he's remixing it as we speak, I'll be interested in what his end result will be.
funny to see this jump back up here, I thought it was long dead on this board.

Mac,
Great song here. Love the atmosphere. Really nice spacing. I love the bass for sure but i think it affects the vocal just a tad---at least what I am hearing in my headphones. I wonder if you could create more space for the vocal with eq? I wouldn't turn the bass down much though. It's really powerful. Nice mix overall in fact.
Cool guitar work too. Fits perfectly. Mostly I just really like this!

That subtle guitar hook makes it I believe.
Kind of sounds like Steely Dan covering a Pink Floyd song!
Hear CSNY in your harmonies.
Moody tune, and cool
