Hey All, I recently purchased my own domain name niteshift Media Asia for a grand total of $6.20 , then got hosting on godaddy.com for a grand total of $0.99 a month for a year, which also comes with it's own web page builder. Not having a clue in the world how to build a website, I would appreciate comments from those who are more familiar with this stuff. I'm really only up to page 1, and the blurb came from a template, so although it's close to what I want, I need to personalise it. Also the blended photo is a bit scratchy as I did it online and don't have photoshop ( any kind person able to blend 2 hi-res photos ? ) Anyways, any and all suggestions would be appreciated. cheers, niteshift

Thanks Roy, you're a champion !
Please excuse me if you don't get an immediate reply. I'm sitting on an island off the mainland and the WiFi is really dodgey.
Images sent.
cheers, and thanks, niteshift

I built my own website with Wix http://colinwardmusic.com/ and I think it is OK, although I can't say it has done anything for me. Much of it is a standard template and as I messed with it, I found sub-menus of stuff for each page and for each item on each page. I don't know how yours works but look for a menu for the page, another menu for adding media to a page (pic, songs, videos, etc.) and then lots of options for each item you put on the pages. As far as what makes a website successful, it's hard to say, but easy navigation to the important bits (buy your song, etc.) is essential. They say that you have about 3 seconds to capture someone's interest and only one or two clicks to get them to buy or email or whatever you want them to do. Getting their email address is usually important. Study up on SEO which is the stuff that make it show up in a Google search. I think planning what you want out of it is probably more important than the actual doing (like prepping a wall before you paint it).
