This is a melody/track that my guitar teacher had and he let me put a lyric to it and sing it. I am always so thrilled to have a great track to sing to and it is a different style for me to take on. Thanks to Dannyk1 for mixing for me, he worked really hard on this one, he is a good friend. CAN'T WAIT 'TIL THE MORNING BEGINS on SoundClickThere is a video now, thanks to Dannyk1 for putting it together: http://youtu.be/SsfLwwtMeNk Can't Wait 'Til The Morning Begins Lyrics by Tammy Carlson, Music by Mike Loce © 2013 The soft Autumn light breaks my dream as the sky colors my night into day birds sing a tune it echos round my room my guitar comes out to play with a heart full of song I ramble along on a road bathed in the sun I kick up the dew and my thoughts turn to you the wind whispers you're the one Chorus when the moon rules the sky and the stars blind my eyes the night is filled with goodbyes but daybreak is when I'll see you again and I can't wait til the morning begins Pine rests on a breeze that rustles the leaves on the pathway to your home I'll share this time your hand in mine dawn won't find us alone In the early hours we pick sparkling flowers and inhale the spice in the air no words can describe the beauty outside or the kiss that we've shared Chorus when the moon rules the sky and the stars blind my eyes the night is filled with goodbyes but daybreak is when I'll see you again and I can't wait 'til the morning begins Instrumental Break Chorus when the moon rules the sky and the stars blind my eyes the night is filled with goodbyes but daybreak is when I'll see you again and I can't wait til the morning Tag: I can't wait til the morning begins

Oh, the joy of morning in the soul of one who is happy, to slip from the facade of dreams into a world that holds promises kept. I love this one tam.Your use of nature and the elements works well on this song.~~~Matt

Tammy, You've got a real good chorus in this love song. Well written and evocative. It's a Midnight song. So it feels to me like there is a disconnect between the verses and chorus. Both verses place you in the morning, yet the chorus has you waiting for daybreak. My only suggestion is to consider setting the verses at night time shortly after the goodbyes have been said to make the most out of the chorus which has the singer in anticipation of daybreak.

Tammy,
LOVE your vocal on this! You are cookin'! You need to find someone to add a drum track to this for you. It would really rock, then!
Nice.

Tammy,
I was editing this post and hit delete instead of edit. It's been awhile since I originally posted. I had a couple of sugs for lyric tweaks, but not sure exactly what they were. I know that my main point was that I liked this melody a lot and that your vocals reminded me of Janis Joplin without the "gravelly" voice. Would love to hear this song with a serious production!

Dan,
I understand your point, but my purpose in the chorus was only to point out why the night wasn't as good as the day, it is the time for goodbye's. But can see where that confusion might be for folks.
Thanks for taking a good look at this Dan.

Hi Tammy,
Your voice has that kind of quality which makes any words you sing sound incredibly deep and meaningful! So when I read these light and romantic words I KNEW that they'd be infused with a great dose of Deep Tammy -- and they were! The effect is lovely!

wow, I was totally taken by surprise with the music. Having read the lyrics prior to finally hearing it, I expected something a bit slower and folkier.......I like everything about this, your vocals just keep getting better.
my only nit would be the chorus, I wouldn't really realize it was a chorus unless I was reading along and saw it noted.
well done overall.

Eddie,
I had read your lyric ideas and I appreciate the time you took to come up with it. I didn't feel that they really fit into the line without being rushed and seemed to get too descriptive for me, but I know what you are getting at, but the words flow within the music without being rushed at this point and I'm happy with that, but thank you ever so much, you know I always look forward to your suggestions...I really do...and about Janis....I WISH!! I love her and have her best of cd, I never try to be her, but hey, if you got that vibe...that is a great name to jot down ANYTIME!! LOL!! My guitar teacher is too busy to gather friends for a serious production of this, he is ready to move on....sigh...what's a girl to do....

I want to see you REALLY GROWL...get bluesy....I don't read other posts (if at all) UNLESS I hear the song first...it's good practice for us all..... But if someone didn't already suggest to you to "dirty" those vox up and really pour some good down n dirty angst in there, I'd be surprised. You may think the lyrics are too sweet to dirty up a bit but that's the twist that I see happening here. This is a wonderful song and you stick the vox, but TURN UP THE VOX IN THE MIX and get nasty. Put some fine cracklin in there...I already hear glimpses of Janis.....now piss her off.
This is a good song. Well done, Tammy.

I have to agree with Dan. There are some serious time-of-day disconnects in your story line. There is some really nice imagery in this lyric, but the progression of events confused me.

I like this style for you but the vocals should be more out front to show it off. Yeah, and maybe a touch more growlly. Lyrically, I'm not confused but I've been accused of being too abstract, like that's a bad thing, so I'm not sure if that's good or bad for you. It works for me. Ricki

I'm with Ricki on this one about getting the sequence of events. It is all perspective, whether you want to interpret the song literally (in a temporal sense) or whether you want to let the song take you on a journey. The mix was an attempt to find the best levels to showcase the vocals AND the guitar. They are both stellar in my opinion. Bringing the vocal more forward in the mix overshadows some very nice subtle guitar work which would not sit very well for some.
I have a lot of favorites that Tammy has done and this one rates right up there with the best.
It was a pleasure for me to be able to stitch this one together.

Mr. MacCharles,
As a fan of yours, I'm just happy you stopped by for any reason, I am very happy you enjoyed it and yes,...the chorus was pointed out to me and I do have a way to fix it, but I'm afraid that my co-writer wants to leave it be for now. But I do understand what you are saying. Thanks!

I believe this is my first listen to one of your songs Tammy. I agree with the Janis Joplin vibe. But I could see this rearranged as country ala Judds(either one - whoops there's 3 - not the actress though). Sounds like you had fun doing it. I sure enjoyed listening to it.

Mike,
You crack me up, not so sure I'm a growling kinda girl, I do know what you mean, I can try stuff like that out, but my 30 years in choirs taught me to sing differently, there was no growling in the chorus...LOL!! I'll see what I can do....

Nice one Tammy. It drives along a pace and the vocal is good. My suggestion would be to add a harmony in the chorus. Vic
