This lyric may bring about some debate, but I wanted to write it. I was thinking about my brother, who was gay, and about how God knew him in our mother's womb, just like any other child. Some of the quotes used are from Psalm 139:13-15, coupled with a poem from William Blake that I have always loved. This is my take on how it is and I hope others can think about.
Wonderful Are Your Works Cindy Prince 2013
I thought somehow I was different Then one day I suddenly knew My attraction was for other boys And though I wasn’t quite sure what to do “You wove me in my Mother’s womb” “And I will give thanks to you” For me, there is no debate Because “I am fearfully and wonderfully made”
Chorus “Wonderful are your works” “My soul knows it very well” My spirit will shine through your unconditional love And therein I’ll eternally dwell
“ My fame was not hidden from You” I was “skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth” William Blake spoke of it when he said “The angel that presided o’er my birth Said, ‘Little creature, form’d of joy and mirth”, With such perfect eloquence and worth “Go, love, without the help of anything on earth”
Repeat chorus

No one is responding to your lyric, so I will. I oppose homosexuality but have a cousin who is gay. His brother and I have mentioned it briefly, and he let me know how it is to have a gay brother.
I majored in English so I know about William Blake.

Thanks Jim. I feel it is not up to us to judge anyone, or for that matter disapprove. I believe most of them are born that way and what are they supposed to do? Is it fair to tell them they are wrong? We don't always know the way God works and I wrote this from my heart. Cindy

Hi Cindy I have personally met many Men who were Gay, beautiful people, and I have my faith, and believe that God loves us all, regardless. We have so many around us doing terrible things, I'm a survivor of child abuse & rape, and I've never heard of anyone Gay hurting a living being. Gays walk a hard life, and should not be Judged for their sexuality. Great write, beautifully honest, and I respect that. Hugs Michele
