No, but i'm sure he'd agree that if you are going to judge a man as a live performer, make sure you SEE him LIVE! He's not a musical genius, but that is what makes him special. Thousands of people can play virtuoso guitar, few can make an impact on peoples lives, provide inspiration and sustanenance. it's folk music really, music for the people, it;s not music just for other musicians. Alot of virtuoso musicians fill their audience with other musicians. Very hard to blow away people who know nothing about music, with music. Just not many artists out there like springsteen, even some of the great live acts say that he is the best live. How many artists have college courses based on their songs? http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/11/1...urse-featuring-lyrics-bruce-springsteen/and btw, it's not even not liking him, i have some very good friends who cant stand him. But for a fellow musician and songwriter to diss a guy that does it all is irritating. Should know better than that.

I'm a fan, but i know people who are more "fans" than I am. They are the kind that must see every show, anywhere remotely close they must go, they must know everything there is to know.
And, they dont write songs or play guitar etc.
For me, I have it all on record. if I never met him, that would be fine im not a fan of him as much as I am of his music, it did/does alot for me.
Final word on the subject is, if he is middle of the road, dont post another song!
And I put myself in that category as well.
Cant hit the bullseye if you cant see the bullseye.

LOL?........really?
I said I never cared for your holy trinity, I said springsteen was middle of the road to my ears, and yes......I am annoying...to you, maybe to others here.........what I find wholly absorbing is your propensity to attach some "my songs are the greatest thing since sliced bread" delusion to my opinions regarding what you think is genius, when all I did was express said opinion.
and yes, in regards to Brian being the only person here who can tell any of us not to post something, would be correct.
I'm sure if I spent as much time extolling the virtues of songwriters whose work I admire as you do yours, you'd have your opinions about that.....the difference is, I wouldn't immediately shine up the chip on my shoulder and try to cut you off at the knees for simply stating they didn't resonate with you.
again, it's okay man............I'm sure I'd get along with Bruce on a personal level, but his work just doesn't appeal to me........and that's very simply it.
christ, what do you do with your friends when they say they "can't stand him"?.........does it spiral into fight club?........I mean c'mon, it's like getting hung up on someone hating strawberry ice cream, when it's your favorite.......it's pointless.

I dont argue with them about his songwriting, most of them have no clue what his songs are REALLY about. But somebody who is writing songs and trying to become a good writer, who doesnt think he is a great writer, is up against it. he's one of the best Saying he doesnt appeal to you would have perfectly fine, but that is not how you handle most of your points, you say them as if they are fact. Quick question: Are you a better songwriter than Bruce Springsteen? Or are you a better guitar player than Jimmy Page? Ok then

Once again, I'm sorry I offended your tender sensibilities regarding these people, ......again you bring in this "comparison" issue.....I never compared what I do to any of their abilities, I spoke (and continue to speak) from a subjective viewpoint in that it does not appeal to me......and again, that's it, very simple.
I don't know where else one can possibly go with it at this point, beyond this, it simply becomes a game of whack-a-mole. Saying you know 4 players who live near you who are better than Jimmy Page, is not amatter of appealing. When you post something that you like it must be reveered and respected but when somebody else does, you take shots at it. your "victim" game is silly. You have started every bit of this. Anyway go write something, i got things to do.
