Country music plus house music in the same song... so, what we could have in that mix I mean this: Wake Me Up by Avicii and Aloe Blacc (seems, there is one more author there ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcrbM1l_BoII was some obsessed with that song for a while - I found everything about it - who wrote, who sang, who are that couple of cuties in the official video... so, how it happened ( #6 in Bollboard US TOP 100 for today and a half year in the chart ) Avicii ( Swedish dj) composed a music based just on 3 chords, when they asked him: "Why did you choose Aloe to co-work on this song?" Avicii replied that Aloe was the only person in LA who he was familiar with... so, Aloe wrote the lyric in 2 hours and then recorded vocals... Well, now each my morning starts with Wake Me Up listening and viewing too ( cuz girls are really beautifull both, and video itself is interesting ) Then I read new comments under video and find the new covers - there are duos, trios( US XFactor), males, females, piano, violin, and even...drums cover there But it's unfair that Aloe even hasn't been mentioned at Billboard, although he should have the credits too. I found some comments from cover performers, that this song's lyrics makes them cry...and really the lyrics is touching. And I suppose the new trend could appear in pop music after all these things, that one single song made, isn't it?

Hi Alek,
I actually heard this on the radio today on my short drive to the local University here lol I noted the arrangement and thought, hmmm this is a bit different:) This has a very catchy melody and set behind a pop background, so it's no wonder about the chart success of this...
What I find interesting is that I heard a song an another forum that tried to do a mix of "Country Dance Pop" and I thought to myself wow, this is really confusing because to my ears they couldn't really define what they wanted to be, they never got the level of both themes mixed in right and it didn't sound appealing to my ears at all lol
This made me think about today's music has such a mix of different genres ect, and how 'Country Music' is expanding with the onslaught of hip-hop being interwoven it's fabric, makes it a very interesting time in music!
As someone who writes Pop-R&B-and Country it gives me more opportunities to expand my catalog of Songs and a way to stretch creatively in many directions!
At first I tried to resist the changes but I am finding out it's better to adapt than be left behind! Thanks for the post!-Dana

As I told you before, now this song makes my every morning (it's good to make morning exercises along with it, or just to listen to it is kinda an exercise too ) and I'm interested what those girls say each other... their last dialog I understand as:
Older girl: "Get up! Pack your things"
Younger: "Where we're going?"
Older: " Somewhere ......" (her last words I don't follow, as well as their previous dialog in the middle of the video)
Who could explain it to me?
