Ok I am not so sure about the title or the big words, but I like the general feel and flow of it. I want to keep the big words as the are necessary to communicate the ideas concisely. Though I am not for certain on the title. Although I am having a hard time coming up with a better one. All thoughts welcome thanks!
Still holds me tightly
1st Verse Visualize, sympathize see my situation Recognize, empathize feel my desperation So you will know what others can see
2nd Verse Illuminate, investigate know my disappointments Eradicate, Alleviate destroy my disjointments Let me bring to you an understanding of me
Lift That’s all I was asking, but you didn’t want to try Opened up my wings, then realized I can’t fly
Chorus And there’s not that much left of me And it’s getting pretty damn hard to see How we held on so tightly To something that was never to be And I don’t know if I like what I see Inside the mirror that’s reflecting me I thought it was meant to be What I let go of still holds me tightly
3rd Verse You minimize, trivialize make me feel rejected Superficialize, objectify leaving me neglected Wanted to be close but you pushed me away
4th Verse You remonstrate, emolliate leave me feeling useless Emasculate, Incinerate then give me your excuses I feel like the ghost that’s living in your play
Lift Looking for a way to severe these strings Feel so tied down but unattached to anything
Chorus And there’s not that much left of me And it’s getting pretty damn hard to see How we held on so tightly To something that was never to be And I don’t know if I like what I see Inside the mirror that’s reflecting me I thought it was meant to be What I let go of still holds me tightly
Tag It won’t let go of me It still holds me tightly

Good point Travis, Definitely a thinking mans vs a drinking mans lyrics lol, perhaps I can rethink some of it, or perhaps it's one of those songs intended to test you as a writer and help to refine your craft. either way it was fun writing it and thanks for the visit Derek aKa tHat gUy
