Cindy Miller wrote this lyric back years ago and I composed the music for it, along with a change or two lyrically since then. It originally had a 3rd verse but it's long forgotten by both of us so I put in a simple guitar solo and repeated the chorus twice at the end. I never recorded it till now except for a crude guitar/vocal for her mother to hear. Never posted it though as I had a bad cold at the time and my voice was lousy. Hi Stevie and Tink -- This is really too cute! And there's nothing better than an Electrolux vacuum! They're practically indestructible, but the one thing that will break an Electrolux is to suck up something wet. So, the tears here may break the vacuum -- you need a Wet/Dry Vac for that -- LOL! -- Lisa

Hey Stevie,
Cindy/Tink is one of my dearest friends. You did a great job on the music and vocal. Those "ahs" were great!
Cindy is such a talented writer and your music is equally good. i sure do miss her here on the boards.
About 5 years ago she wrote a lyric called "Mascara Masquerade". I wrote a novel based on that song and it will be published some tome in the spring.
Noicely done, Stevie! Demoed emma, huh? Ha!!!! All the best!

Just mentioned Tinkapooh on another thread about the history of Pineyfest...yup, she is missed. Not to downplay anyone here, but this came from a "JPF Golden Age" when there were so so many talented writers posting lots and lots. Of course Tampa Stan was there, as he is now, feeding his one or two a day habit... As I recall, this one led to, or was part of, a whole host of "appliance lyrics" I miss giving her a daily {{{BSH}}} Nice to hear it and see it back Stevie.. Now go and get her to come back ...Harlan's had her enough now. It's our turn again
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

Thanks for Reminding Us of all the Great Talent that's back there in (Iowa?) raising her family/doin' her day-job. Miss-Ya, Tinkie!!!
Nice One, & Really FUN, Stevie-B! Good Luck with it! Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug, Stan

It sounded like it came right off a Tom Lehrer LP. And if you aren't familiar with Lehrer...that's a huge compliment!!

They're practically indestructible, but the one thing that will break an Electrolux is to suck up something wet. So, the tears here may break the vacuum -- you need a Wet/Dry Vac for that -- LOL! -- Lisa Thanks Lisa. The vacuum brands in the lyric were Kirby and Hoover. I changed Hoover to Electrolux as Hoovers are typically upright vacuums and Electrolux is a floor model using a hose exclusively...or at least they used to be that way. I appreciate the response. Thanks Floyd.
Actually, an old friend came to visit for a few days over the weekend and we played Tom Lehrer over the car radio via his IPOD. It was a stroll down memory lane. My favorite of his has always been Poisoning Pigeons in the Park.

That sounds about right in terms of time frame. There were a couple of years when we all posted in both places. I think when Brian migrated the board from the old "black and white place" to an earlier version of this place, JPF became more popular and TWS kinda withered away and Shayne joined here. It still comes up in Google, but because only pages were saved, links\discussions etc don't work anymore.
Cute story. Tink posted with her real name at TWS (or the other way around) and I messaged her that someone named Tink or (Cindy)had hijacked her lyric and posted it on the other site.
This was before I knew they were one and the same.
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop
