sorry to post another song so soon. Just that I'm feeling nostalgic tonight, and I had a couple of discussion about other songs/lyrics on the board today that reminded me of this. The singer is Dave Brooks, I did a lot of my demos, and cut this song on his own CD. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=6278992&q=hiSHE'S FORGOTTEN BY NOW (verse) A quarter moon, a Dallas sky Orion on the rise A hint of lilac on her neck And love was in our eyes Some good Kentucky bourbon Made everything feel right And though I'd known her just a month The world was ours that night (prechorus) We spent about a year together Then things jsut fell apart She walked herself out of my life But she's still in my heart (chorus) Each day I remind myself It's time that I let it go But I still think of her When I'm lyin' here alone Every time I start to feel like I'll get by somehow I'm haunted by those memories That she's forgotten by now (verse) Was I too blind, was she too young? It doesn't pay to blame No matter how two people try They can never love the same Freedom held her tighter than I could ever do She promised we'd work things out I knew it wasn't true (prechorus) It wasn't getting any better And any fool could see As much as that girl meant to me It wasn't meant to be (repeat chorus) Bill Osofsky, Eden Langworthy copyright

Mighty Fine Write/& Demo, Brother Bill!
Think Hook'd be smoother & even a bit More-Country if it was simply "She's Forgot By Now"--KOS. (Delete "That" too, I'll add.)
Good Luck with a Good, Sad One, Amigo!
Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug, Stan

Bill,
Loved it. A really solid write!
An all-out Garth sound/feel to both the melody and production of the demo. Perfect singer for this one...
What country radio needs to return to sounding like...

Not much to add to what was already said here: very smooth, flows well, everything fits together, great vocals, solid arrangement and performance. This type of song doesn't get much better. :-)

Hi Bill,
This is beautifully done - it sounds great! My son walked in while I was listening and he gave an unsolicited comment -- "it's really good." (After asking whether it was a true story -- lol!)

Hey Bill,
Great production mate, can't beat the vocals and musical arrangement. Simple and clear.
As for the song itself and the lyrics ? I've listened a couple of times, and I'm missing the hook, both lyrically and melodically.
Perhaps it's because of it's generic nature, or lack of story line ?, or what it's NOT saying ?
It's a "Ok but no cigar" from me, but I did enjoy the listen anyways.
cheers, niteshift

Thanks Bill. LOL Pretty cool tune.

Lisa That's really nice, Lisa. I wouldn't think this is something a teenager would enjoy, especially a Beltway kid, lol. Please assure him that no feelings were hurt in the making of this song, the story is totally fabricated. I don't even know what Orion on the rise actually means, lol. Bill

Hi Bill. Really good song here and excellent production. Just one teeny nit: I think it would help if you cut "That" from the end of the chorus. Vic

I’m listening thinking wow, top notch demo, sounding really good. Loving it! I couldn’t help thinking though, man I’ve heard that vocalist before, just didn’t know where. Then I saw Dave’s name and realized he’s sung on four of my demos! I knew he sounded familiar! Nice choice.
Great song, nicely done.

Sounding good, Bill. I'm not into Country but I know how it should sound and this is as good as anything I hear on the radio.
