Hey guys .. As cliche'd as this melody might be, here's a little 3 minute ditty just for fun. I think I'll give it some Brit jangle pop treatment. You thoughts, critique, comments and suggestions are always welcome and appreciated. ** Chap All I Want Is You - on Personal Server All I Want Is You - on SoundClick-i-ness All I Want Is You - Chapman Jones (c) Croaking Frog Brand Music 2013 I handed you a flower, you put it in your hair I asked you if you loved me, I asked it as a dare I looked into your eyes and I saw a new sun rise We sat so close together, you could not tell us apart Someone walking down the street could hear our beating hearts They might think that we're in love, let's let them think just what they want Coffee in the morning Tea in the afternoon When the moon comes up All I want is you All I want is you All I want is you I have seen a lot of good things happen in my life You're the best that's come along, why don't you be my wife I am down on bended knee, with all my sincerity Coffee in the morning Tea in the afternoon When the moon comes up All I want is you All I want is you All I want is you In the autumn when the leaves have turned a golden hue They will fall upon the ground but I'll be holding you In my arms we'll hug and kiss, it's no more simple than this Coffee in the morning Tea in the afternoon When the moon comes up All I want is you All I want is you All I want is you *************** Chap

A nice feel good tune but where oh where is that Rickenbacker? Could be part of a movie soundtrack for a chic flick, romantic comedy either at the closing credits or some feel good moment in the film itself methinks...But where is that Rickenbacker???

A good one and well-suited to the Brit Pop treatment you mentioned. I think you should give the music a modern flavor or it could sound like it was from 50 years ago unless that's what you want.

Nice tune Reminds me a little bit of Fountains of Wayne's "Hey Julie" in sound. And yeah, the jangle-pop treatment will be nice. Looking forward to hearing it.

I really enjoyed the listen! I really liked the lines "In the autumn when the leaves have turned a golden hue They will fall upon the ground but I'll be holding you"
One thing I would say is that in the verses, my ear kept wanting to hear a fourth line instead of holding out the end of the third line. It seemed something of an awkward ending for each of the verses. It was saved by a catchy chorus, but I think that a fourth line would help, IMO.
Great work overall though, good luck with it!

Thank you all very kindly for your thoughts and suggestions. As soon as I get my mixer back in order, we'll take it to town and have a go at making this a nice little pop-ish tune..

I really enjoyed this a lot. It was a whole lot of fun to listen to. I am with Stevie though. When the song ended I stuck around to listen to Come Along and man did that Rick sound sweet. Candy to the ears, as is your vocal. Nice job.

Hi Chapman,
As cliche as this song is, it was a nice feel-good song. Very easy to listen to.
Great work!

What they all said...and like Calvin I really like this line with the "fall" vs "holding" imagery. Nice.

Hey CHAP...
I believe in not trying to make a song something it's not....Please apply that here...
This is a perfect, coffee commercial. Any family type product commercial really...
I would add another acoustic & a violin and keep it as is...
Heck....I had the IPAD in my hand listening to the tune, running my wife ALL OVER THE HOUSE....singing "All I want is you" and kissing her...she'd run and I'd chase more, singing the CHORUS and pecking her as she covered up
Good wholesome fun tune, with a catchy CHORUS....

Hi Chap, it has a 60's folk pop feel to it. The lyrics are clever and fit the melody.

Thank you Karen. Appreciate your thoughts. Janice & Bud ... thank you! Hiya Ben, thank you kindly. Hey Steve. Thanks for going deep. I took a hard look at your thoughts. You went down an avenue I hadn't considered. As I mentioned, I originally had this pegged as an 80's-90's alternative sub-pop/jangle tune. I have played this live now to several audiences in it's acoustic form and they really enjoyed it and were not shy in saying so. I am indeed leaning toward your thinking now. I believe I have my mixer fixed. I'll know tonight. And if so, I'll put some things together to pull out the more acoustic side of this tune. On another note, what did your wife think of the tune? I'd really like to know! Chap
