Oh, I know I'm gonna pay for this one later but dang if I didn't have fun writing it anyways!! I hope you like it!
"I Love You, Too (More or Less)" by Dave Gill (c) 2013
We'd been hanging out for almost three months straight And last week we officially started to date Tonight you said "I love you" as we undressed And I'm thinking that "I guess I love you, too (more or less)."
The moment lingers on while you await a reply I can see you start to question If you picked the wrong guy You repeat "I love you, baby." As you kiss on my chest and I struggle with the thought "I love you, too (more or less)"
It's difficult sometimes for me to put into words Those special kind of feelings that are felt but not heard If I tried to tell the truth I know you won't be impressed so I'm stuck here thinking that I love you too. (more or less)
By now the moment's passed and you put on all your clothes You start to yell and scream and punch me right in the nose I was gonna say "I love you" but I digress, asking "Do I REALLY love her?" "Maybe so. (more or less)"
<b> Men like me are a special breed on physical love is what we feed The only kind of feelings that I need are from your hands! (and lips and stuff and other parts)
I watched you storm away like you're a typhoon from hell and now that I'm without you I think it's just as well My friend is telling me I'm better without your mess I said "I love you, man" He said "You do?" <chuckle> "More or less..."
It's difficult sometimes for me to put into words Those special kind of feelings that are felt but not heard If I tried to tell the truth I know you won't be impressed so I'm stuck here thinking that I love you too. (more or less)

Here's a re-write from a gender neutral perspective
We'd been hanging out for almost three months straight And last week we officially started to "date" Tonight you said "I love you" as we were getting undressed And I'm thinking that "I guess I love you, too (more or less)."
The moment starts to lag As you await a response I can see the doubt within you as we get our groove on You repeat "I love you, baby." As you kiss on my chest and I struggle with the thought "I love You, too (more or less)"
It's difficult sometimes for me to put into words Those special kind of feelings that are felt but not heard If I tried to tell the truth I know you won't be impressed so I'm stuck here thinking that I love you too (more or less).
By now the moment's passed and you put on your clothes You're yelling and you're screaming as we stand nose to nose I was gonna say "I love you" but I digress, asking "Is it REALLY love?" "Maybe so. (more or less)"

I watched you storm away like a typhoon from hell and now that I'm without you I think it's just as well My friend is telling me I'm better without your mess I said "I love you, bro" He said "You do?" <chuckle> "More or less..."
It's difficult sometimes for me to put into words Those special kind of feelings that are felt but not heard If I tried to tell the truth I know you won't be impressed I can't make it any clearer I love you (more or less).
Peace,
Dave

well Dave as an exercise to get under someones skin I believe you might have accomplished it. Time will tell.
You have created a "nasty" character and developed him throughly.
Lets see what others have to say.

Dave,
I think your songs tells the truth about love these days. It is hard to say what love even is. But we men all understand the physical, sensuous and sexual side of it.

Hi Dave
I am sure many have worn that t-shirt. I have..lol
They say that 'Love Hurts', so does not saying it.
Great lyurics and put together just right
As I was reading, for some reason, I started to think of 'Idiot Boyfriend' by Jimmy Fallon. one of my fav videos on youtube..

Hey Doug! I won't take credit for the creation of this character. But I had fun writing about 'em. Thanks for the reply. Peace, Dave

Hiya Jim! Yep. Love is a many splendored thing. I know women understand the same thing though. Maybe I'll rewrite it to include BOTH sexes. Thanks for the reply! Peace, Dave

Hey Roy. Thanks for the read and response. I'm not familiar with the video you mention so I'll have to take a look.
Peace,
Dave

Hi Travis! If ANY of my lyrics evoke an emotional response, then I have accomplished more than I had hoped for. I just put words on paper. Thanks for the read and reply! Peace, Dave

G'Mornin' Bro Dave!!!
Great Hook, for starters. MANY can relate to it.
I think Us Guys CAN take a lotta Abuse & still come back for More. (&..heh..SOME of what leads UP to the Abuse IS often Our Fault...) ;-)>
The Violence in-here is What Scares Me...it's overly-Physical, on Her Part. (Cops just LOVE separating the Duelling Parties...Not...heh!)
Here's a Sug for Last Bridge Line:
"As Long as You Don't Make Me Bleed"
Overall A Very-Good'n'...KOS The Sug, & Good Luck with one Both Genders CAN Relate-To..I am sure!
Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug, Stan

Stan-Da-Man!! Thanks for the read! I've taken your suggs to heart and created a new write from a gender-neutral perspective. (and removed the "violent" reference as well) Let me know if this is any better... Thank you for the suggestions! Peace, Dave
