Another very relatable piece. Inspiration not recalled or just nothing special.

BLIND EYE

c2019 Brian Beecher

On a Friday night she felt like
Running away from it all
A strong feeling of restlessness
Was gnawing at her soul

On the next night she would stay home
And bake his favorite cherry pie
He would end up turning a blind eye
He would end up turning a blind eye

Needing space and freedom
Was nipping at his heels
Don’t do anything too hasty
She would say upon appeal

Work has had him going in circles
Yet his love got her a high
She would end up turning a blind eye
She would end up turning a blind eye

He mistreated many women
His public persona fake
Powers that be not quite sure
Which direction they should take

Folks may be alarmed when the fog lifts
But until then he would get by
With the powers turning a blind eye
With the powers turning a blind eye

Now our middle class is broken
Our world is not quite what it seems
While the snake oil salesmen ask us
What are our goals and dreams

When our heads are spinning in the clouds
We can’t make time to sit and cry
With the public turning a blind eye
With the public turning a blind eye
