I can totally relate. I never used to get depressed but with middle age, I find my thoughts coinciding with many lines from Cheyesky's "Network," such as
"All of a sudden itís closer to the end than to the beginning, and death is suddenly a perceptible thing to me, with definable features."

Your song reminds me a little of Randy Newman's "I Think It's Going To Rain Today" but your lyric is straightforward whereas his is not, relying on sarcasm for his hook "human kindness is overflowing/and I think it's going to rain today.".

It's a good song that could use a little work to make tighter. The introduction seems to be in a distant key, so the beginning is a little rocky, but otherwise, I liked this.
