I like the imagery here, and I love how this is clearly coming from specific place. You say it's "just a song about staying humble," but I don't believe there's not a good story here, if you'd care to share it.  Personally, if it's a song I'm singing along to in the car, I could do without the "give the Lord his due" bit. It feels sanctimonious, but that's just my personal taste, not a reflection on the lyric itself. The good/evil heaven/hell dichotomy is tried and true for Blues, so it definitely fits. Nice work!
