Last night I tucked my daughter into bed

And listened as she said her evening prayer.

“God bless my friends and family,” she said,

“And thank you, God, for always being there.”

I kissed her cheek and pulled the blankets up,

But just as I was turning out the light,

She sat up on one elbow and she asked,

“Daddy, do you know what God looks like?”
