The Smithsonian Mansion in DC  Ancient Music from Confuscious..  An actual Van Gogh...

The Jefferson Memorial behind Linda across the pond...  Jefferson was a real thinker and visionary.. I wonder what he would have done with technology like the Internet...  A nice view of the Washington Memorial from the Jefferson Memorial

Probably the most powerful stop on the trip was the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. We spent app. 5 hours touring through the most horrifying era of human history. It was depressing but enlightening. If everyone on the planet toured this memorial to the millions senselessly murdered, perhaps bigotry and prejudice would finally take a step backwards. Only the emotionless among us could experience this without intense thoughts and feelings Yes.. it is THAT 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Address of the White House and the President of the USA.  It is amazing how close you can get to the building, but still feel so far from being able to fix the problems that those within it's walls are charged with doing. Blocks away, homeless people roam, murders take place and crime and poverty run rampant.

This woman apparently has been directly across from the White House for years protesting Nuclear Weapons. Oddly enough, we saw her about 2 hours later driving by us in a car eating Taco Bell.. quite surreal... (I'm not kidding!)  Remember the old Saturday night live sketches where there squished things.. well.. I couldn't resist!  Lots of Monuments to famous War Veterans... I wonder if a day will come where artists are remembered with the same reverance somewhere?

Linda and the Anciet Van Gogh  A Degas Statue.. beautiful!  We saw a great Gallopogas IMAX 3 D movie... really.. there aren't our sunglass.. I'm serious here.. trust me...

Scale is hard to see.. but this dude's spawn is still swimming around today..  Jaws has nothing on this guy...  A pteridactyl skeleton.. if I spelled it right.. very cool!

This Dino Era Giant Sloth was about 15 feet tall and utterly frightening... scariest thing I saw!  A Mastadon Skeleton. Looks like a human head with trunks.. and he's grinning.. very odd!  My favorite piece in the National Sculpture Gardens...
