USS Constitution at Sea. It only sails one time a year, and it was happening exactly when we started our Whale watch tour. It is the oldest Commissioned Warship in the world!  Our view back at Boston from the Whale Boat. Pretty cool!  It was hazy, but still a nice view of Boston.

Whale watching is risky. As in you risk spending 5 or 6 hours on a boat and seeing nothing but the ocean.  But on this day, our ship came in and we got to see lots of whales roaming around our area.  I even got the elusive whale tail pic

But mostly it was just little humps  I met our friend Robert from Belgium during the Whale Boat trip. He works in the diamond business in Antwerp and we arranged to visit him when we do our European Roadtrip sometime in 2001!  Like many, I love a good lighthouse!

Coming back from the whale trip and Boston was still there.  4th of July in Boston. It was a mob scene. A street comic entertains the kids and about 1000 adults!  We paid quick homage to Sam Adams in the historic graveyard in the center of Boston that includes some of my direct ancestors and also Mother Goose and John Hancock!

Linda in front of the Capitol  And the require shot in front of Cheers on Bleeker Street near the Boston Commons.  We headed over to the Half Shell to see the Boston Pops and the fireworks in Boston on the 4th....

Apparently.. about 500,000 others  had the same exact idea....  but the Stealth Bomber may have had the best view.

The Mini harbor next to the half shell was home to tons of little boats fighting for position and partying  even Lady Liberty was getting a good spot in her boat....  Our view of the half shell once the police scooted us away from the good seats. Of course people got there at 5am for those seats, and we got there 10 minutes til showtime...

Across the river, there was an enormous jumbotron showing the Boston Pops and performers  The half shell lighted up with 500,000 people around it is a site to see for sure...  and we all were squished in like sardines (literally) to see it....

Pics never do fireworks justice...  but here are a few anyway....  Happy Birthday USA! 2000!
